And just think it wasn't all that long ago that the director of Homeland Security said that publicity about the violence on the southern borders was being blown out of proportion. Maybe she needs to see why these new gunboats are needed.

Actually we have stopped it when the surge was instituted. Stuff got very quiet. Guess you forgot about that? Try reading Tom Clamcy's Clear and. Present Danger because it could be just like that.

What you are referring to us keeping the peace under a BS set of ROEs set up by people not having the guts to break the will of the enemy. Instead, and this is where Rumsfeld erred, we went in with just enough force to get to Baghdad as fast as we could to unseat Saddam. We should have cleared every house, village and town from the Kuwait border to Baghdad and by the time we got there, the Iraqi people wouid have been begging us to stop.
