- George Washington

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
- Benjamin Franklin

"The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."
- Thomas Jefferson

I agree completely. However, where we will disagree is where a person takes that gun and puts it in a motor vehicle....something which did not exist at our founding. I believe in the second amendment, and like all amendments it is not an absolute right, but one that has been tempered and refined by Supreme Court decisions.

However, if you want to put a gun in a car....I think that the Supreme Court has made it very clear that driving vehicles on public roads is a privilege where the state can regulate the same. Keep our guns to stop big brother.....no problemo.......but when you put your guns in a motor vehicle....you will follow the law. That law needs to focus on technology....but like a broken record.....I will repeat.....this is not about gun control....it is about gun safety......and gun safety is completely consistent with each and every quotation.

Oh come on..The right to travel is a RIGHT. in whatever conveyance is of the period...you think that cars are a privilege but of course you believe the state is god....The founding fathers would have laughed you out of the country with all your BS on technology to prevent insane people when all it would do is screw up everyone elses lives...FREEDOM....!!!

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
- Thomas Jefferson (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria)

The Second Amendment is as stale and moldy as those old quotes.

Repeal and replace.

But here ..let's look at your daddies quotes...

Killing the private property-that was the center of the Marxist economy and Marxist ideology. That was the center of the Lenin ideology.

One man with a gun can control 100 without one.
Vladimir Lenin

The goal of socialism is communism.

Not my call T....the Supremes settled this 70 years ago and have repeated opportunity to overturn the privilege designation. This allows reasonable regulation of motor vehicles. You like PKR may have a hell of a right turn hand signal which does not require a turn signal in your cars......the founding fathers would have laughed me out of the country to talk about an electric turn signal in a horseless carriage fueled by magic juice....yep...you are correct......stick that right turn fist high into the air......freedom....but please scrape the bugs off your arm before making that proclamation.

No, it's definitely cheese.

The founding fathers could not have envisioned our MIC.

Your booby-trapped FEMA trailer is not a threat.

Well if my FEMA trailer has any traps it's only because it was built for the government...they put smoke detectors every 15 feet because it probably is a fire hazard. You still can't have my trailer Commie....you didn't work and buy this trailer. I DID.

The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property.
Karl Marx

Seaoat...your progressive thoughts are retarded....

Well thank you.....if you are limiting it to my thoughts we are indeed making progress. I am befuddled. An ignition interlock is progressive? A method to stop drive by shootings is progressive? Is progressive mean intelligent.....or do you really believe it means retarded. So when teddy broke up the trusts...some called him a progressive Republican....would his thoughts have been retarded. When a person came up with mandated safety belts in cars...was that progressive, or was the reality the insurance industry was pushing for the same because it would lower deaths and save lives....hmmmmm was the insurance industry progressive in padding their bottom line....interesting. I think there is some fundamental confusion on political nomenclature....PK has mastered this confusion, but in fairness....you could have simply said I was retarded....independent of my thoughts.......so we make small steps. I saw the Lincoln movie.....yep....that must make me a progressive....therefore folks who went to the Lincoln movie have retarded thoughts......oh by the way.....I am right on this one....it make take a few years....but the biggest battle facing America will be technology and our constitution.....and that simply is fact....
