Not Christianity,,,,,,

http://www.yolohub.com/featured/the-fastest-growing-religion-in-america-is

Do you know what the fastest growing religion in America is? It isn’t Christianity. According to the latest U.S. Religion Census that was just released on May 1, 2012, the fastest growing religion in America is Islam. The data for the census was compiled by the Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies, and the results were released by the Association of Religion Data Archives. From the year 2000 to the year 2010, the census found that the number of Muslims living inside the United States increased from 1 million to 2.6 million – a stunning increase of 66.7 percent

IF all the stats and claims on that linked page are valid research (and I have no idea if it is or it's not cause I don't know how it was determined) then that is one of the most astounding revelations I've seen in a month of Sundays. And Saturdays and Mondays through Fridays too.
The really shocking thing is Islam growing in popularity in this country AT THE SAME TIME THERE HAS BEEN SO MUCH HATRED TOWARD MUSLIMS EXPRESSED BY AMERICANS AS A RESULT OF 9-11 AND THE "WARS ON TERRORISM".
If all this is true wild chrissy, it is the goldarndest thing yet. Thanks for sharing it.

p.s. notice I used the word "goldarndest" because when the forum speaks I listen and profanity will no longer be a mainstay of ButtMan's posts.

It's also shocking to learn that Mormons are up by 45% when traditional Christianity is down.
I would never have believed that if I hadn't read this.

I don't have a problem with Muslim population increases. America is a Melting Pot and I hope the diversity makes us stronger. There will be "rubs" with them just like we had with other peoples like the Irish and the Chinese, but we'll get over it.

Sharia law? Well, America won't stand for it. As an example, I read this week about lawsuits in some communities with majorities of residents that support the jailed polygamist Warren Jeffs. Apparently, the communities favored polygamist peoples and discriminated against non-polygamists. People aren't gonna put up with that crap and they certainly won't put up with Sharia Law.

No, we won't put up with Sharia law but I haven't seen any evidence of anyone trying to make Sharia law a mainstay in any state.
I am bothered by the increased lack of separation of church and state though by some groups claiming to be Christians. I don't want anyone pushing through any religion into our state laws. I value the Constitution. Smile

It is not a mainstay but it is happening. That is why I applaud states that forbid any form or practice of sharia law.

I completely forgot about that nutjob judge doing that. Thanks for reminding me, alecto. No one under any circumstances should be allowed to do this. I think it is disrespectful to what our country stands for.

There have been several judges which have made decisions in accordance with Sharia law here in the United States. To date, their decisions have been overturned.

What about the power of money to change our laws? We all know that our lawmakers take huge bribes (Money from Corporations through Lobbyists) to vote for or against certain bills. Also we all know of the incredible wealth of the oil producing countries most of which are Islamic nations. They are run by Islamic madmen to want to make the whole world Islamic.

Islam is the most dangerous movement the world has ever experienced.

I don't doubt that money talks, Yella. I just hope that our system prevents Sharia Law from becoming the law of the land. If there are enough Muslims in the USA to vote to change the way we do things, I don't see how it could be stopped. Constitutional Amendments could be passed and our freedoms can go right out the window.

It's possible, but unlikely... as long as we are vigilant.

If there is ever any attempt to put me under sharia law I would consider that a personal act of war and that's when all I'll want to do is take down as many as I can before they kill me.

A lot of Muslims' stupid laws are not even dictated in the Quran. They make up their own laws to suit themselves. That's what really irritates me about Muslims who believe in Sharia law.
Like stoning people to death for adultry - that's not in the Quran, it's in the OT of the Bible.
