Yeah, they're scrambling to find some kind of a scapegoat. (It's kind of hilarious, but I hear that some desperate scumbags are even trying to say there's an equivalency just because the Dayton shooter supposedly voted Democrat... which might make sense if Democratic leaders were spreading racism or calling for violence against anyone, but since they do the opposite the people who make that argument are just jokes who bring shame to the people who raised them).

Truth is, Trump's cultists know damn well he's been encouraging the kind of thinking that led people like the El Paso shooter, the MAGA bomber, Dylan Roof, all those bastards to do the things they did. And they know Trump won't stop doing it because Trump (A) IS a bigot, (B) knows that his BASE are bigots, (C) is a headcase who neeeeeeeds somebody to like him, and (D) knows that the only people he's really making happy anymore are racists. So, Trump's not going to stop pandering to those creeps. His lunacy won't let him. Oh, the guy's a sick bastard, no question about it. I don't care that much about his metal habits -- some of the kindest, most peaceful people I know listen to Cannibal Corpse. This guy, though, seems to have taken things too seriously, as well as having a misogynistic bent. I'm a metalhead, I'm an atheist, and I'm a Democrat, but I'll be the last to tell you that there are no scumbags among either of those groups. Like any subset, you have good, you have bad. This guy was, decidedly and unequivocally, bad.

So far I've seen zero political motivation for his killing, though. And it'd be pretty hard to create one, since he seems to be a Warren supporter and Bernie-Bro, and Warren and Bernie both decry racism and violence, not encourage it. As much as I dislike Bernie, I can't say he's ever encouraged any kind of racism or violence toward anyone. And Warren certainly hasn't. It'd be very difficult to listen to anything she's saying and come away from it with, "Hmmm, I need to kill people!" Might as well try to blame Mr. Rogers.


Meanwhile, the El Paso shooter joins a long list of killers who have acted due to politics. The El Paso shooter even echoed a lot of Trump's "invasion" rhetoric, and he comes from the 8chan Trump cult that actively cheers on violence against immigrants, Muslims, and "leftists," which pretty much covers everyone except them. Then you have guys like Cesar Sayoc, who "found a light in Donald Trump," even according to his own lawyer. Then there's a score of Dylan Roof types who were emboldened by Trump's stirring-up of white supremacy. Then you have the New Zealand shooter, who loved Trump and listed people like Candace Owens as the people who radicalized him.

I don't think every right-winger who commits an act of violence does it for political reasons... but there are a big list of 'em who did. You can find leftists who have killed people, but other than that jackass scumbag who shot up the senators during baseball practice, it's hard to find any who did it due to politics.

Trying to make an equivalency between the Dayton shooter and the El Paso shooter is an exercise for a desperate, guilty idiot who knows he's backing up bigots and is trying to find some way to weasel out of the obvious. That shit's not fooling anyone, although it's amusing to watch the asshole try.
