Dear God.....is there any confusion as to who Republicans are working for, and the fascist direction this country is going led by ultra right wing fascist and foreign fascist. How did we lose our vigilance and allow the lowest common denominators to destroy America as the sheep are soon to be eaten by the wolves.

Jeff Flake just lied saying consumers can opt out. The bill has no mechanism for forcing the internet providers to do the same.......liars selling American citizens down the river. This alone defines the strict party vote. There is no confusion. Evil is identified.

Someone set up a crowd funding page on FB to raise money to pay the isp's for the search history of every congressman. When you think about it some of those ass clowns that voted for this probably have some pretty damaging search history. Then when one of them is caught you will see them on TV apologizing to the lord, wife and kids and their constituent's promising never to do that again.

We have all iterated our view(s) of this administration but I said early and often that "THE FOX IS IN THE HEN HOUSE! Nothing that happens going forward can/will surprise me . . . . . . our country is in peril!

http://thehill.com/policy/technology/326462-internet-users-raise-more-than-200000-to-buy-lawmakers-browsing-histories

Internet users are fighting back after Congress voted to block Obama-era internet privacy protections.

Two fundraising campaigns have so far raised more than $215,000 to purchase and reveal lawmakers' browsing histories.

Actor Misha Collins, the star of television show “Supernatural,” has raised more than $63,000 on his GoFundMe page. More than 3,000 people have donated to the page, which has a goal of $500 million.

Great news! The House just voted to pass SJR34. We will finally be able to buy the browser history of all the Congresspeople who voted to sell our data and privacy without our consent!” he wrote on the fundraising page.

Another activist from Tennessee has raised more than $152,000 from more than 9,800 people.

A bill on its way to President Trump’s desk would allow internet service providers (ISPs) to sell users’ data and Web browsing history. It has not taken effect, which means there is no growing history data yet to purchase.

A Washington Post reporter also wrote it would be possible to buy the data “in theory, but probably not in reality.”

A former enforcement bureau chief at the Federal Communications Commission told the newspaper that most internet service providers would cover up this information, under their privacy policies. If they did sell any individual's personal data in violation of those policies, a state attorney general could take the ISPs to court.

It's all a grotesque invasion. The fbi has had clandestine access of these records via intimidation already... and of course the nsa has collected everything. I hope this wakes people up.

But I highly doubt it.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah_Data_Center

The Utah Data Center, also known as the Intelligence Community Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative Data Center,[1] is a data storage facility for the United States Intelligence Community that is designed to store data estimated to be on the order of exabytes or larger.[2] Its purpose is to support the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative (CNCI), though its precise mission is classified.[3] The National Security Agency (NSA) leads operations at the facility as the executive agent for the Director of National Intelligence.[4] It is located at Camp Williams near Bluffdale, Utah, between Utah Lake and Great Salt Lake and was completed in May 2014 at a cost of $1.5 billion.[5][6]

One way I hope it wakes people up is I hope it convinces them to stop voting shitty republicans into office.

We have all lived, since J Edgar Hoover knowing the govt could and would spy on us, but the internet age has made it easier for them to do so. Now along comes a bill that had some protection's and wiped clean by republican's. But to be able to purchase pkrbum search history is ridiculous. I haven't seen where Trump signed it yet.

If I ever consider re registering as a republican again I hope someone just shoots me. I can't believe I voted as such for so many years.

While on a rant Ryan says he'll never work with dems, basically Schumer said the same thing about Repubs, Trump says he'll work with dems, black caucus says they'll work with Trump if other dems will. Head of EPA will undo a ban that was suppose to take effect I believe Sat, dangerous pesticides to spray crops that have proven to cause cancer especially in children, WTF.

Sembler of Florida the guy trying to stop the marijuana vote past November, in fact paid into the fund about 10 million is now on the committee to shape how amendment 2 is going to work, against smoking, vaping and edible's.

Goddamn it what the fuck is wrong with everyone I mentioned?

They have made very comfortable lives for themselves and their families prostituting to special interests, and to expect them to voluntarily stop whoring is beyond naive. The only thing which will stop these bastards are supporting primary opponents on both sides of the aisle. When we start putting people in who are responsive to the citizens and not the 1% we start to take this country back. I am curious if the guy locally who had "conservative" on his sign running for congress is good with allowing internet providers to sell our privacy? These people need the pitchforks.

This thread is a joke, of course this forum has turned into a small collection of alarmists anyway. There were no real protections in effect preventing ISPs from having the ability to sell information, the R's basically just killed the upcoming regulations - they didn't create a NEW situation. And guess what, most legitimate ISPs won't sell your info anyway - they aren't now. This is just another hair on fire knee jerk reaction to a nothing burger.

Nonsense. If what you believe is true, why pass the bill? It is a big deal. It is the essence of the Republican Party. You and Senator Flake(that is ironic) are full of chit thinking that the good grace of the isp will allow you to protect your privacy......there is NOTHING in the bill that has any restrictions on the ISP, and contrary to what the flakes are saying.....this is a big deal and one more incremental intrusion. I get when I search on Google and they collect my search data and guide me to google ads. I have the choice to use other search engines. I do not have the choice in my home in Illinois to have any other ISP, because I am limited to DSL from the phone provider, or I could try to craft some expensive and less reliable satellite internet which would not support my roku.

If you're so fucking disinterested in this forum, why do you bother? Go jerk it somewhere else.

Matters at hand pkr, I know the dems are just as bad. Don't get your panties in a wad. But anyway when I tried to buy your search history there are 50,000 poker bums. Just not enough money.

Seems like no one can post daily news anymore without bringing up someone else did this or someone else did that last year, 5 years, 50 years ago. If you're living in the past I too sometimes live in the past. But if it makes everyone happy I will quit.

This wasn't my handle playing online poker a decade ago. If I had used it... it'd be easy to know who I am.

Regardless... we're on the same side. What irritates me is that the complaints under Obama were muted.

gator used to make some pretty good threads and contributions.....that manicured back yard must have him in a retired man funk. His wife is probably wanting to get him out of the house.
