He has correctly and quietly retreated from this thread. I think he would even admit that the last 10 years were a joke in the East, and now the problem has gotten so bad that real discussions are happening other than just Mark Cuban. I really think something could happen next year in regard to this, because when free agents choose, they want to play the best. The discussion of James being the Goat is completely over. I honestly do not think they will even get out of the weak east before their poor defense dooms them to better teams in the east.

The best player in the world.....that statement got old real quick.

I always thought he was a great player, but during his era there were always better players for a season or two. It was the team of the ages when he thought Miami was a great team which made me just shake my head. I knew then he had to get a few gray hairs and watch the NBA for twenty more years. Some have James as the 11th player in the current NBA. I have him teetering around 10 or 11 on the all time list. He most reminds me of the mailman who like james played his career in a very weak conference and ran up stats......and he never could really win when it counted. I cannot wait to 17-18 season because I do not think they leave the weak east. They will get beat.

Dallas is crying once again about the decade long imbalance in the East and West which has not been corrected. I count about five or six all stars going to the West, and the rumors have Anthony going to Houston. The East All Star team like James and his stats will be second class and everybody knows the truth. Sports radio is having a field day talking about how long this weak east has not rebounded. I am a total advocate that the top 16 teams make it to the finals, but my twist would be divisional winners are automatically in, and the next ten teams by record are in. This keeps the integrity of the fight for winning one's division, but also does not have the NETs in the playoffs while the Clippers fail to make it.

Carmelo rumored to be going to Houston.  My last count had at least 7 current or former all stars going from the East to the West.   One going from the west to the East.   It is going to be even more silly this year at the all star game and the playoffs. The NBA has had a serious imbalance in the divisions and the playoffs were boring this year. It is going to get worse when half the games nobody will watch because the sixth or seventh best team is getting in the championship game. The owners should meet immediately and allow the division winners and the top ten teams who did not win their division to play with the ranking based solely on the winning percentage.

James will have a legacy of people who did not want to play with his ball hogging.

Irving is a very good player. The team he joins will be much better than the team which James once again tries to join and stack. Irving knows he should have got more credit for the only championship in Cleveland. I personally think that Minnesota will trade Wiggins for Irving.

We have been saying this for five years. People who play with him get upset because he destroys team play and chemistry. Great stats, but those are a dime a dozen when you are a power forward and you insist on trying to be a point guard. When people start talking, it will go to defense.....bet on it.

Much of Irving’s disenchantment with James was rooted in game play, sources said. James, as a once-in-a-lifetime talent, controlled the ball more than any other forward perhaps in league history.

All the years we have talked about how James has hogged the ball and killed team play as he got his stats is coming home to roost. His lack of defense and floor imbalance on offense means that you are going to have to have freak luck to win, or your opponents are just in a cold shooting slump. In my mind only one ring was won with any kind of dominant team play. His legacy sadly is being shaped right now. He will abandon Cleveland. He will look for more stars to float his boat for more stats to become a bridesman once more.........meanwhile Irving will probably end up with more rings than James, and the truth will become common place. When players on the Heat were talking about this, it was ignored. Bosh said it was hard playing with him. I do not even consider him top ten right now with these revelations.

He controlled everything but his defense. Too many times I watched him, if he missed shots he would hold back and even if wide open, he would not shoot or drive to the basket. It was all about him and his stats

Sports radio in Chicago has been saying this for five years. When you and I say the same, we were greeted with the team of the ages and the GOAT. The Truth is what you have been saying for years. He cannot be coached. He really is his own worst enemy. Had he come into a winning organization with a strong coach and his god given talent, who knows. His legacy will be the truth. More folks are going to start talking like Irving. I really do not know who could coach him now. He was a high school kid who never has been coached. He is a great role model, and has high basketball IQ, but he will NEVER master what it takes to win Championships by himself.

Exactly!

In his early years, I'm sure he had a coach that just let him do whatever. Had he had a strong coach and mentor maybe it would be different.

I hate GOAT reference and I hated the media & BOF reference of the greatest player in the world. .. I will add James is very good...and could have been much better. His bullshit antics with the move to Miami was a turnoff for me and makes me suspect, he ignored his publicist or hired an idiot.

Rose a former MVP who is the same age as Curry is going to take 2 million to go to the Cavs. Curry is getting paid 20 times that amount. Noah went to the Knicks on an 18 million a year contract. Trading out Irving for Rose with two bum knees does not make the Cavs better. James will run and Rose will be sitting with no money in Cleveland......a fate worse than stepping in dog poo. However, if Irving could bring Anthony to the Cavs.....hmmmm. This may make sense for a year.

Rose will not make a difference. He will collect money sitting on the bench.

Sad... but true. Some athletes just can handle the rigors. 82 reg season games is also way too many... imo. If there were 41 games then I think it would create a lot more drama... and then more interest. I highly doubt that will ever happen tho... too much greed.

I think Rose made 22 million on the last year of his contract with the Knicks. He has to reestablish his knees are healthy, and he goes back on the free market where he could lock up a four year deal for 70 million easily if he contributes to the Cavs getting to the finals and averages what he did last year.

James is being reported to have said he would like to kick Irving's asz. I do not think Irving will return. Without Irving, James has been exposed for what he always has been. His legacy is being destroyed by Irving because basically Irving is calling James a ball hog which renders his stats and records moot because he cannot and could not win. Rose is not Irving with his questionable health and track record over the last four years.

I am now starting to feel sorry for James. He is a great player, a great role model, and has lived an exemplary life outside basketball. People have always been called James haters who spoke any truth about the way he played. I certainly never was a hater, but the fuzzy headed fandom who did not see the individual play and stat building always amazed me. Now, the whispers and the sports talk radio are just pretty much disrespecting this good person. I am now getting uncomfortable with how far he has fallen in his stubborn selfish pursuit. I do not know at this point if anything can be done, but I have argued for years that he is the Mailman, and now I am not so certain that his legacy will even be that.
