It is hard to believe that he was such a young man when the chit hit the fan, and that he outlasted all his contemporaries.

Fidel proved to be a thorn in America's side for half a century+.

I am hopeful for the future of the Cuban people, once the Castros are gone. Hopefully, President Trump will build on the new relationship that was established between the U.S. and Cuba this past summer. There is a lot of opportunity to conduct business in Cuba, and Florida will benefit economically from an expansion of relations established under President Obama.

for all we know he was a bed ridden, broken down old man at the end as we do know he lost the ability to govern for unexplained reasons. I doubt the quality of his life was very high as he had all but disappeared from the public. His island was only relevant when backed by the Russians.

I am sure that Trump sees much opportunity to bankrupt casinos in Cuba.

Progressives mourn the loss of Fidel Castro, the Socialist, murderous, brutal dictator of Cuba.

Republicans and Conservatives, along with Cubans, celebrate his demise.

Where on this thread is anyone "mourning" the death of Fidel Castro?

I digress that I fully expected Lame Dork poster Markle to offer us the wingNUT's perspective on this matter......

No one on this thread is mourning Castro, of course. What we probably should mourn, though, for compassionate humanity's sake, is the increasing tiny-ness of poor Markle's brain and intellectual vision. At this point it's pefectly clear he is only capable of seeing the world in black or white, two dimensions, period the end. Poor guy.

Poor Mr. Markle has been rendered irrelevant.......making chit up like his puffing of real estate, is neither honorable, or worth following such hollow concepts as progressives mourning Fidel Castro. That is a unique perspective that I might find when observing my grandson playing with imaginary friends.......the problem is that maybe Mr. Markle is not intentionally making chit up.....maybe he actually believes what he posts. How many times did he do something like that in a real estate transaction?

Compare and Contrast: DONALD TRUMP vs OBAMA on Tyrant Fidel Castro’s Death

Jim Hoft Nov 26th, 2016 10:16 am 113 Comments

Cuban Communist Fidel Castro finally died last night.
He was 90 years old.

Barack Obama and Donald Trump both released statements on Castro’s death.
trump obama

President Barack Obama released a statement Saturday morning on Castro’s death.
Obama would not condemn this evil man.

Instead, Obama said “history will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him.”
What the hell was that supposed to mean?

Via The White House:

Statement by the President on the Passing of Fidel Castro

At this time of Fidel Castro’s passing, we extend a hand of friendship to the Cuban people. We know that this moment fills Cubans – in Cuba and in the United States – with powerful emotions, recalling the countless ways in which Fidel Castro altered the course of individual lives, families, and of the Cuban nation. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him.

Now here is President-elect Donald Trump’s statement that was just sent out:

President-Elect Donald J. Trump Statement

“Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights.

“While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve.

Cuban's are dancing in the street. I wonder if they support Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. Obviously Lame Duck President Barack Hussein Obama is in mourning!

Sickening: Geraldo Defends Dead Tyrant Fidel Castro: “I Think He Will Be Fondly Remembered”

Fox News Journalist: Geraldo: You know I’ve been to Cuba several times especially back in those times when it was shut off. I think it’s very easy to have a simplistic view that he was all awful for Cuba and the world and I just don’t think that’s accurate. I think the Cubans have a tremendous sense of pride over his legacy. And I think he will be remembered fondly… There are aspects of what he left behind that I think will be remembered.

I'm glad you believe all of that Breitbart junk. Time to repost that CNN article that listed the 'outrageous' headlines from Breitbart that you so sincerely claim are true.....

10 of Breitbart's most incendiary headlines

http://money.cnn.com/2016/11/14/media/breitbart-incendiary-headlines/index.html

Here are just some of the more provocative headlines that have appeared at Breitbart.com in 2015/2016:

'The solution to online 'harassment' is simple: Women should log off'

'Bill Kristol: Republican spoiler, renegade Jew'

'Trannies whine about hilarious Bruce Jenner billboard'

'Birth control makes women unattractive and crazy'

'Suck it up buttercups: Dangerous Faggot Tour returns to colleges in September'

'Hoist it high and proud: The Confederate flag proclaims a glorious heritage'

'Would you rather your child had feminism or cancer?'

'Gay rights have made us dumber, it's time to get back in the closet'

'Science proves it: Fat-shaming works'

'There's no hiring bias against women in tech, they just suck at interviews'

Please tell us, Markle, WHY you believe mothers should wish their daughters to develop cancer rather than become feminists?

I wonder is Rafael Cruz Sr. will go to the funeral. Didn't Cruz Sr. brag about fighting in the Cuban revolution with his comrade Castro? Of course that was before Cruz Sr. became involved in the JFK murder, or is Trump I holding his twitter about that lately?

She knows the history, better than you.  The reason the U.S. decided to invade Cuba in 1898 was to steal it from Spain who was already on the ropes fighting Cuban freedom fighters.  When it was realized that as much as 1/3 of the Cuban population was black, any idea of making the country a state or territory of the U.S. was abandoned because if the Americans did so, thousands of black Cubans would migrate to the American homeland.  Fact.  The Cuban revolutionary army under Calixto Garcia, with some 4,000 troops arranged with General Shafter and Admiral Samson, to attack all the shoreline installations where the American invasion was to occur.  They did so, making it possible for the American troops to land unopposed.  When the battle for Santiago got underway, it was Garcia and the Cubans who blocked any Spanish reinforcements.  When Santiago surrendered, the U.S. double crossed her Cuban allies, barring Garcia or any Cuban revolutionaries from attending the surrender ceremony. It was only due to the efforts of the Cuban revolutionaries that made it possible for America to win the battle of Santiago.

In 1902, American general Leonard Wood authored the Cuban Constitution which gave the U.S. supervision over any foreign military affairs in Cuba, and set forth provisions to assure U.S. investment and control of the Cuban economy.  Every Cuban president from then until Batista in 1959 was a fully supported puppet, approved by the U.S.

At the time when Castro and the revolutionaries liberated Havana, U.S. companies owned 85% of the largest businesses in Cuba -- including all public utilities, public transportation, tourism (all the big hotels in Havana were owned by the Mafia), most of the Sugar production, and under the auspices of United Fruit (owned by Joe Kennedy) much if not the commanding share of the Cuban banana production.

In essence, as usual, the United States of America, pretending to be honorable and peace and freedom loving was in fact raping the people of Cuba who were hired for seasonal labor at less than subsistence wages.  The U.S. had been raping Cuba for over 50 years when the people of Cuba enthusiastically joined Castro's push to oust Batista and become an independent nation.

If anyone questions how Castro came to power, just look at the real history of U.S.-Cuban relations.  One word perfectly describes U.S. foreign policy at the turn of the century ... and today: "Predator."

You get what you pay for.  Don't blame Castro, blame American thievery and corruption.  Reality

When I was in my early 20's, I met a man who claimed to have been Batista's minister of agriculture. He was a German national who claimed to have come from Cuba to the US on a raft. For someone with such supposedly humble beginnings, he had certainly built up his businesses. He hosted a party for his newest business and announced that I would be running it...in front of the mayor and the other influential people he had invited...but he forgot to ask ME. I had no intention of quitting my job for a percentage of the profits in a new restaurant...so I left the party in a huff...never saw him again. The point...he thought I would just go along with whatever he proposed.

It wasn't my objective to tear down or build up Castro's image. But as for America's deceitful, dishonorable conduct at the turn of the century, If you can't handle the truth, that's your problem, not mine. And where you want me to live or take a dump, matters just as much to me as reading a very dull, boring book. LOL
