And these are both democrats and republicans so of course this makes me a "fence-sitter". And it doesn't matter if you "throw the bums out" because, as always, more bums are waiting in the wings.
The question to you is this. Why shouldn't all of us do everything we can to cheat on income taxes and try to cut off the supply of money to these bastards? And why should we bother to keep voting when all that accomplishes is nothing?

(a)Unless you're self employed thee is almost no way to receive wages without taxes being taken out.
(b)Actually, voting is nothing more than a way to make Americans feel like they have some influence on our government. Not only does Congress not do the will of the people, we now have had two Presidents that don't feel the need to follow laws or the wishes of Congress. And they have their own military force in the CIA which is not mindful of the laws of America or other nations.

Great question! I sure don't have any crystal ball, but I think America will be much more like a third world nation. Our future is in our children and were doing nothing to insure our children have the skills needed to maintain a standard of living anywhere near what we have today. Our education system has become a baby sitter for disruptive children at the expense of an education for our other children.

I have a good friend who says the country is just going through another phase like it has for over 200 years and it will all be sweetness and light again so not to worry. That there is no more decline of the country than there has ever been. He says his children will figure it all out like new generations of americans have always done.Ghost_Rider1 wrote:How much did the State of Florida spend prosecuting Casey Anthony only for her to be acquitted of the most serious crime? Who here thinks the solution is to get rid of Obama and the democrats and elect Romney and republicans?
Who here thinks the solution is to keep Obama and elect more democrats?
Who here thinks the solution is to pay more attention to fox news?

As always, ButtMan could be wrong. And since ButtMan is not smart enough to give a rebuttal to such an excellent essay as this, ButtMan will have to defer to others for that.salinsky wrote:ButtMan wrote:Slicef18 wrote:ButtMan wrote:Slice,

First off, I don't watch MSNBC or FAUX.
Now, from what I've read on these boards, your political philosophy is pretty much that both sides suck and are equally responsible for the sorry state of our nation. I agree with the first part, but reject the second. In my lifetime, I've watched the Republican party drift further and further to the extreme right to the point today where they are beholden on one hand to an ideologue who rejects raising revenue for any reason, and on the other to a group of fundamentalist fascists who are in a constant state of panic over the loss of white male privilege. The Democrats response to that drift has not been to stand their ground and hold to their principles. Instead, they've been gravitationally pulled to the right (either by greed, spinelessness, or stupidity - take your pick, it doesn't really matter), in a perpetual search for the new "middle". The result is that we now have a Democrat POTUS who has governed to the right of Ronald Reagan, and conservatives have spent the past four years setting their hair on fire and screaming about "SOCIALISM!!" and the "COLONIALIST KENYAN USURPER!!!". I wish to hell there was a real progressive alternative, but with the exception of lone voices like Bernie Sanders, it's pretty much a political wasteland. So what's the solution? For me it's to continue to vote for candidates that will move us even ever so slightly away from the abyss, and more importantly, to support philosophically and financially causes and policies that will restore sanity to the system. I will vote for Obama in November. Not because I think he is the solution, but because he's slightly less of a problem than Romney ... slightly.
Now, what's your solution? Will you vote in November, or will you whine about both sides sucking and take your ball and head home?

I do believe you are retarded. You don't make a lick of sense. How many of owners of teams are going to regulate their own people when they are winning under the influence of drugs? Legal drugs is no one's business? How many people are addicted and abuse legal drugs? How many people get in their cars and kill people on legal drugs? Legal drugs are abused just like illegal drugs.chrissy8 wrote:This is the type of thing that agravates me with our Gov. well one of the millions anyway.
illegal drugs is a issue for the state police, or if its traficking then federal law.
legal drugs is no ones business
if sports teams want to regulate steroids or any other type of legal drug, the responsibility of it should be put soley on THEM< sports association or owner of the team>
This is not a complicated issue, its common sense.
