By far more civil occupations have greater risks than military deployed to a war zone. This hero worship and the honoring of military feeds the mentality which creates perpetual war. The only way to explode militarism in this nation is to expose the myth of our mercenary war machine. If you are deployed to a war zone, you are probably safer than a logger or a commercial fisherman working civilian jobs where there is no fantasy of heroism , or worship of war.....just real tough guys making an honest and moral living for their families.....people with choices.

110 million to sell the military and militarism to America in just one air show the Blue Angels........ask somebody in the know about the historic record of fuel dumps in the Gulf.......ask somebody in the know about the hours required to be on the team which in practice runs alone equal ten million per pilot, without talking about salary or other costs....just fuel costs and training for a Blue Angel pilot. A typical hour long show or the many practices uses in excess of $70,000 of fuel.

Mercenary armies, glorification of implements of war, huge carbon footprint and pollution of the Gulf with fuel dumps before landing.....on and on the nightmare continues. Military Industrial Complex sales agents go around the world selling their weapon systems......and guess who provides the air shows.....you got it. Congress tries to get fair reimbursement for the merchants of death.....you got it .....congress votes down compensatory payment to the United States for the actual cost of these foreign air shows. You see the whole rotten mess is tied to the proposition that if you question the military budget, the operation of our military, and the subsidy to some of this mercenary force, you are against the brave heroes who risk their lives for America. It is smoke and mirrors. It is war propaganda. It is dividing this country because huge regions depend economically on this war machine, its bases, its employment....... Our founding fathers warned us of the dangers of standing armies. Ike warned us of the danger of the Industrial Military Complex. Yet, Congressmen retire and lobby for these merchants of death.....they become rich.....we bomb hospitals and have the war propaganda machine create fear in the average American........and on and on it goes.......slowly the public is growing tired.....they know the truth.
