Good friends we have known for almost forty plus years are the first friends who at least one of the couple has said they will vote for Trump. They both are educated and they used to have a young outlook on life. About a decade ago they were like going out with your great grandparents. We just could not believe how much they had changed. They were afraid. They used to attack life with a zeal and carefree attitude, but the husband was beaten down by his job and the wife who always wanted to travel was facing her senior years tied down to some developing health problems with her husband.
Well, we have been getting these feel good emails from them for a year. On a general list I guess. The most recent was about a marine visiting a hospital....who holds and elderly man's hand for a night because he was in uniform and the staff thought it was the man's son who was in the military and asked him to hold his hand, after the man dies the next morning, the staff gives their condolences to the marine for the loss of his father.....the marine responds he is not my father, and I was simply comforting someone who probably thought I was his son........the staff member asks....who were you here to visit.......I was asked to come here to tell a man his son had died in Iraq......of course that man was the man whose hand was held..........
I just want to scream.......hundreds of thousands of innocents are dying from our bombs around the globe, and these chain emails are sent to make our military and overseas adventures honorable. These friends want to vote for Trump....none of their family ever served in the military.....none of their children ever served in the military.....he is one of the most racist folks I know, yet we are now subjected to this mind numbing propaganda, which he now is forwarding to a group of friends who think they have lost their minds......scared old white people voting for Trump. Wanting us to screen Muslims and drop more bombs......when you see once sane people so gripped by fear and depression that they have to go down this road......you begin to wonder if the only hope for America is the baby boom curse just takes its course.
