The Mitt Romney Campaign Bus visited Northwest Florida today, meeting up with Mayor Ashton Hayward, local college students and others.
The stops are part of the “Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class Bus Tour.” Romney himself was not on the bus.
Hayward spoke to and shook hands with Romney supporters during a stop this afternoon at the Community Maritime Park.
Hayward stepped off the bus to applause, cheers, and the waving of American flags.
“We are here to support Governor Romney,” Hayward said in his speech. “November 6 is going to be a big day in America.”
Hayward spoke about unemployment and small business in front of a crowd of about 35 people.
“Unemployment has been above 8 percent for 43 straight months,” he said. “It is now time to get America back to work.”
Hayward encouraged the crowd to vote for Romney in the upcoming November election.
“Pensacola has to do its part for Florida,” he said. “We have to win the state of Florida.”
