Speaking of shameful, how about Scalia's opinion back in December on the Fisher Vs. University of Texas Case?:

   “There are those who contend that it does not benefit African-Americans to get them into the University of Texas, where they do not do well, as opposed to having them go to a less-advanced school … a slower-track school where they do well.”

"Those who contend" obviously included himself, for he had no problem repeating what he'd supposedly heard.   Can we really blame Obama for not attending the funeral of this man?

Besides, from what I'm seeing it's apparently been tradition that either the VP or President attends a Supreme Court justice's funeral, not both.   To me it's perfectly proper that Biden should go, and not Obama (who, btw, somehow managed to graduate from a "more advanced" school).

Why can't society use one set of standards for every citizen? Do we want equality or not?

Very true. Progressives seem to think that by putting an unqualified person, into a an environment above their ability, they'll somehow miraculously rise to the occasion. What happens is that that individual fails and someone who is qualified for that position is denied.
