He claims if they were able to transplant a live person’s brain into a bionic body, than it would “achieve a point where no one has to die at all.”

Josh hopes to accomplish this in the next 30 years.

Responding to any criticism he and the company may face over their shocking proposal, he says: “There are promising breakthroughs happening every year in neuroscience and biotechnology.”

“We plan to implement [these breakthroughs] as we work towards performing the first surgical procedure of restoring and implanting a human brain to a new bionic body.”

Tech giant Google has previously said they believed science could make it possible for people to live until they are 500.

a live brain will need to overcome the diseases of the brain and the effects of aging on the brain........but it is all theoretically possible......years and years and years into the future when man has much more mastery of biology.

In the beginning it would be the one percenters who could afford to have it done.  It's always that way with the "early adopters" of new technology.
And a few more 1%'ers living forever would probably be tolerable.

But over time,  the technology would become available to more and more of us.
And at some point,  the human (or human/hybrid cyborg) population would start to grow exponentially (since attrition had been stopped).

As a result,  the  world would soon be facing a calamitous crisis of overpopulation of humans/hybrids.

And this is how that plays out.  Governments would then mandate Prohibitions against creating more hybrids.
And then what happens?  Same thing as happens with all other similar Prohibitions.  The whole thing would then go underground.  And the one percenters would still be transplanting their brains into robot bodies.

After that,  I can't predict it.  Too many unknown variables.

This could be a lot closer than we think. Consider all the research that is going on to repair broken spinal cords. If this is perfected it could then be feasible to transplant a healthy brain into a young healthy body. It would be expensive but the world has many people with millions of dollars.

So do we clone people for bodies or just use progressive liberals since their heads are already empty ?

I hadn't thought of that yella.  At some point we're going to be transplanting brains into healthy bodies.  The body donors would be people who died of blunt head trauma or brain cancer or whatever.

But we would then be faced with a crucial choice.

Either,  one,  we choose to transplant our brain into a robot body which would theoretically last forever if propertly maintained.

Or,  two,  we would transplant our brain to an actual biological human cadaver.  That way we wouldn't have to go around looking like a robot with a brain in it,  we could look human.  BUT,  that human body we adopted would have a limited lifespan like all human bodies.

But of course by then,  we'll probably know how to build a robot body which appears to be human (like the Terminator).  And then we can look human and live forever at the same time.

But that still gets us back to a scenario in which eventually the human population would probably grow to trillions.  Not sure about the ramifications of that.

Of course there is another consideration.

Take Sheldon Adelson for example.  He's on his way out and I'm sure he would like to live longer with his brain inside a healthy young body.

If I was him at that point, with all his money and his questionable morals,  I would find a 20 year old homeless dude who looks like Brad Pitt.  And I would kill the sucker and have my brain put in that body.

We're gonna need more law enforcement because there are a lots and lots of Sheldon Adelsons out there and lots and lots of good looking peons to get bodies from.

I think that we have ample evidence on this very forum that brains deteriorate over time as well.

There's been some serious genetic research going on with chromosomal telomeres & telomerase that, if it works out as theorized will be able to arrest the aging process of cells and even reverse it to a degree.

Reportedly they are on the verge of a breakthrough with this research in the next 10, 20 years & possibly even less.   People could possibly live indefinitely barring injury or disease ... and it's theorized chromosomal telomere therapies could kill cancer cells.

That also ends up with the same scenario.  People living lots and lots longer if not indefinitely and the human population growing to extreme levels.
THAT'S gonna cause some serious dilemma and conflict and authorities scratching their heads over how to deal with it.
The authorities will then have the power of god and determine who gets to live and who doesn't.
In the words of my old grandpappy,  "that aint gonna sit well".
