Why is this forum on the Newfoundland Time Zone?

I just made a post at 5:56 central time.  But the time indicated on my post is 8:56.
That's the frigging Newfoundland Time Zone.  Why is this forum on the Newfoundland Time Zone?

I think you can choose your time zone in the profile preferences.
