I just signed up for fan duel.....put $200 in and they matched it with $200

I am going to stay away from football until Basketball starts and I have a better feel. I just bet $25 on Monday night baseball. The Cubs are playing a weak Milwaukee team, and the Sox are playing a weak Detroit team. I picked mostly Chicago players. I can only win $150 at the top end, or lose $25. In my entire life I have never gambled on sports except Super Bowl parties and boards. This may be fun this fall. I will see how it works and give an update.

I am so sick of their commercials.

My Monday night baseball picks did not go because I had just signed up. I took a five buck bet tonight to test it. It is incredibly difficult to pick a team, and I personally know why you are sick of the commercials. The pros are building incredible databases which give a few such an advantage of the probabilities of putting a winning team together, and they need a volume of fish that are currently places sports bet with bookies. I have zero chance of betting baseball and winning, and I will not even look at football until eight weeks have been played. I am thinking I will do well in basketball, but I guy who has played fantasy for awhile said basketball is the most difficult. I will see my results Thursday but a five buck bet....who cares....it was fun.

I came in 18k out of 21k entries.......small bets from now on.....I did not have a clue.

90k out of 600k football this week......getting closer to the money.

2seaoat can afford the loss and he greatly enjoys the excitement he derives from gambling. For him, more power to him. I don't see the attraction but to each his own.

I don't enjoy or gamble on anything about which I do not have total control.

I did go to the horse track somewhere North of Chicago with my Aunt once. the train, 100 yards or so from her condominium stopped right at the park entrance. I thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle. I went with $100.00 to lose and came home with $50.00. So the afternoon cost $50.00 and it was certainly worth that cost. My aunt faired slightly better.

A cousin of mine who lives in a community just North of Chicago goes to the river gambling boats frequently. Again, I don't see the attraction but it's his money.

Fantasy football gives regular fans an opportunity to become educated about football stats and who is performing. The local leagues are all about fun and competition. This site allows $1 bets. I have made a $5 and a $10 bet and in the process I am learning more about the current players in the NFL. By seasons end I will be back to my level of knowledge when I lived and breathed NFL football. I am doing it for entertainment value, and I know folks who place 1000k a week with bookies, and what I like about this is the site is set up to administer local leagues and folks can challenge their friends, and make entertainment bets.......I have never bet sports because only one in a thousand can win with a bookie.

We could easily set up a Pensacola Forum private league on that site and set the weekly wagers for $1, and see who was the winner at the end of the year. I never expect to see my original 200 bucks or their matching 200 bucks but I have about two years of enjoyment if I never win one week, and I doubt I will live that long, I am having fun watching everybody I pick tank.......the team I picked for defense this week was the Texans who Atlanta whooped asz and my score on defense was -2.

I don't get the attraction either. It's fun with a friend for a few bucks or the beer and wings tab...

but I guess I just don't like real gambling. I've never enjoyed casino table games... not even cash poker games.

My well known point is that many of the people sucked into these things tempting people with million dollar winnings each week, prey on those who cannot afford the loss.

The Florida Lottery preys on those who can least afford the loss and is a cruel taxation on those who would be better putting $20.00 toward rent or food.

I have always been a social gambler. I like poker not because I am going to win anything, but the banter. I was approached continuously to bet on sports but I never did. I bet on golf. I bet on Pinochle after golf where three four five or six players could socialize....never really for much, but I had skills and could pay for my golf losses to the sharks who had phony handicaps, and I bet on vacation table games in casinos. After I got sick the doctors said to keep working and keep my mind active. Eight years ago I began playing casino poker and a bit more Casino table games to do what all the docs told me to do. I am up over those last eight years, but because the last two years I have been falling asleep at poker and the last time I made a final table was when PK was in Chicago and I won 900 bucks at a turbo tournament. I have been skunked for almost a year this October, but part of the reason is I am not entering tournaments, and I was down in 2013 and 2014, but am a couple thousand up this year, and will begin playing tournaments this fall after I return from Pensacola, Birmingham, and south Florida to take care of business.

The fun of fan duel is it is so inexpensive and if anybody signs up thinking they are going to make money sport betting.....they are a fool.

I have won a lot of money gambling on a sport in which I participate. Never had a losing year. Paid for my last two years at U of M. So what?

There's something else you may not be aware of if you didn't play online poker... the bonus they promise has several stipulations and requirements. You basically have to work it off... and if you aren't a winning player it's going to take more deposits.

ILLEGAL to bet whatever you want on real sports games but LEGAL to bet on FANTASY games.

Still having fun and not the slightest worried about my 185 bucks......have lost 15 bucks in three weeks since signing up. I will be betting baseball playoffs, and NBA starts shortly. It has been more fun than I had expected......I won $500 in poker last night so 2015 is much better than 2013 and2014, and if it did go south, I would just write it off against the winnings. I have had to pay taxes on winnings in 5 of the last 7 years, and this year is a winner.

About half the time when I visited a url, the Draft Kings window came up.
I just deleted the app today.

five bucks on the baseball playoff today, and ten bucks on football......this is a lot of fun......see if I can get closer to the money......very very difficult.

$30 into it and still no win.....each week my scores are improving but significantly out of range for a win.

There are alot of strategies that might help you on this page. Particularly the thread on the scandal and what the employees were doing to gain an advantage. I don't play it... but apparently the trick was to find players that the others didn't favor that had particular matchups. Like a receiver against a team that lost a starting corner. The receiver might not be that great... but the second string corner is worse.

It is a learning curve. I agree that catching that player which nobody else is naming, and playing on the probabilities on the certain players, and you can score, but my tight end tonight was NE's star Tight end, and I have zero points. I have consistently been picking Robbie as the kicker for the Bears and I have done well on kicker each week, and took Denver on Defense thinking that was a safe bet, but Cleveland played well against them. I am hoping by November, I will be more knowledgeable and a better fantasy player, but honestly I have not followed the NFL like I used to, and I am certain I probably will not even have a twenty five dollar winner all season, but I am only betting five bucks a week, and it is the fun of learning players and teams. I used to religiously watch inside the NFL on Thursdays on HBO, but since they moved, I just do not follow the league like I used to when the bears were playing better.

NBA starts tonight for me on fan duel. Much easier. Smaller number of players who I am familiar. This will be fun. If I get my asz kicked in this, I guess I will put up the white flag.

You need to think differently than the masses... you can't beat them picking the best players. You need good matchups once.
