Here's a little inside info on comedy writing.

When I first wrote that reply,  I wrote the line as "has the same color hair".
But then as I usually do,  I went back and read it again and realized it needed editing.   And that's when I changed the line to "has the same hair color".

I learned to do this from listening to Leno in a radio interview.  He was asked about his writing technique and he explained the secret for him was to never go with the first line he writes.  He always then came up with different variations of the wording to find the one which best communicates the concept.
