I'm a cord cutter, so I have no cable subscription. As I was searching twitter for an "under the table" link to a live stream last night, I noticed a recurring theme in comments with the #GOPDebate hashtag, and that was millennials who were pissed off that this wasn't simply offered as a stream on the Fox News website to non-cable subscribers. I'm sure old white people had no problem watching the debate, but then again the GOP already has much of the market cornered in that demographic. Many of the demographics that the GOP will need to reach if they are even able to put up a fight in the general election were excluded last night. And this wasn't only the case with respect to the availability of the debate, but also with respect to the debate subjects. The middle class and the economy weren't really mentioned all that much in the debate last night. And in the few cases where someone was questioned in one of these areas, they often tried to change the subject. Last night was abortion, abortion, abortion, Iran, abortion, who is more crazy, abortion, abortion, abortion.
None of those candidates will win more than 200 electoral votes in the general election. Quote me on this.
