Author ashe award... pfft.

I think her intentions are well meaning, and perhaps gender identification will become more accepted in general society, but I doubt that the cruelty which goes on in Junior Highs across America will protect the vulnerable because those kids are not understanding of differing sexual identifications.....and actually prey on differences in Junior High.

Acceptance needs to be taught.

I was lucky...my kids always stuck up for the weaker ones. My son got into a fight in first grade...a kid was picking on a classmate that had a cleftlip-ckeft-palate. I was proud but the next day I had to take up the same fight. My fight was with the substitute teacher who told the little boy to sit down and hush up because she couldn't understand what he was saying.

Don't you think that was his mother's job?

I was taken to the principals office in first grade for protecting a friend... a black kid in inner city houston.

We all grew up fine.

The same as a guy who wants to become a girl as that is a choice and a cleft palate is a birth defect.
