I am running out of candidates in the Republican Party I can support

I am a traditional Republican who in my youth had heroes in Senator Percy, Dirkson, Dole, Ike, Teddy, and Abe. I am no more progressive than these great Americans, and I am tired of the Republican brand being stolen in the mid seventies by Dixiecrats and haters. I liked the way Rubio handled himself after the Gulf spill where he said unpopular things in Pensacola and did not change his message to suit the crowd. Since then he has flip flopped on immigration....he had it right until he backed down, and he certainly cannot make an argument.

By the way Mr. Markle, I ran as a Republican in three counties and came in third of the four candidates. The best candidate won and is still a friend. I worked a Republican precinct at 13 handing out Goldwater literature, and was head of young republicans for Nixon in 1968 and went door to door. Nixon and Reagan could not be elected dog catcher by the bat chit crazy wing of the Republican Party which has been bought and paid for by special interests. It is plain and simple corruption which NONE of the real republicans would tolerate.

Mr. Markle acts as a shill for the Koch brothers who NEVER claimed to be true traditional Republicans, but rather their father and their political philosophy is Libertarian and destruction of government so that the oil and gas industry can have carte blanche. Mr. Markle you are not a Republican, but a traitor to the Republican Party.

I voted a straight Republican ticket from my first vote in 1970, through the 1990 mid-terms. I strayed with my presidential vote in 1992 (voted for Ross Perot). I haven't voted for any Republicans in general elections since around 2000.

The Republican Party of 2015 resembles nothing of the party I joined in 1970.

If elected, the GOP nominee will do what Republicans do best: Cut taxes, run bigger deficits to make up the difference in revenue (remember, Dick Cheney once claimed that Reagan proved that deficits don't matter), greatly increase military spending, and declare war on Iran. Those things are going to trump all other issues, except perhaps ramrodding the repeal of the ACA and a few other things aimed at pleasing special interests.
