Imperfect deal
The nuclear agreement framework was announced. Is it perfect? No it’s not perfect. Did we get everything we wanted, no? Could we have gotten a better deal, probably not.
If this deal is rejected, what alternative do the Republicans propose? Most Republicans want no agreement and then we bomb the nuclear facilities? That’s an act of war. Is war better than an agreement that achieves the same objective as bombing?
The one thing some people agree on is if Obama negotiated it its bad. Long before the framework was announced, all Republicans denounced the deal.
Our unofficial secretary of state, Netanyahu, also denounced it. Our Senate sent a letter promising opposition to whatever is agreed upon.
Many people don’t realize that the president speaks for our foreign policy, not the opposition party, and not the prime minister of Israel.
Why all the Republican opposition?
Most Republicans cannot accept the fact that he was elected twice. They believe the presidency is theirs by divine right and refuse to accept his presidency. They are willing to take actions that harm the country in order to hinder or embarrass the president.
This kind of questions their loyalties.
