Go into your "Profile", then "Preferences", and down near the bottom, you'll see Time Zone.

Select The time zone for "Chicago, Winnepeg".

Spell check is done automatically. Anytime you misspell a word, a squiggly red line appears below the misspelled word, similar to the way it works in Microsoft Word.
