Will our atrocities never stop?  Is this what we get for having a voluntary (mercenary) military force?  And we wonder why everyone our troops come in contact with hates our guts!!

This is an OLD story. Your source must be desperate for copy to dredge up something that happened 4 years ago. These animals are not representative of all military people by the way - not even a minuscule percentage of the military, they were idiots and were sent to prison. Too bad they didn't get the death penalty.

Abu Graib. The Army sergeant who went on an unauthorized killing spree and murdered 13 civilians.  Guantanamo's torture history.  Rendition.  Why does this shit go on and on and on and on?

What's clear, is our military needs to stop behaving as crude animals and clean up their act!!

For the same reason atrocities occur in the civilian community, why did the dude shoot two cops in Ferguson, why does a mother kill all of her kids, why did a group of teenagers throw gas on homeless man and set him on fire, why did a dude shoot up a government facility in D.C., why did two guys drive around D.C. shooting innocent people from the trunk of a car?

Pick your reasons but don't think for a minute all service members are like that - they are far more likely to help people in trouble than shoot them.

My wife used to tell me that each year there were one or two kids who were simply bad.......a teacher never writes off any student and she took pride in trying to help those kids.....but she failed more often than she succeeded. Those kids end up working, joining the military, or end up in prison. The military may attract more of those kids, but they are everywhere.

He was charged 4 years ago. He was apparently just convicted and sentenced.

Nope, his court martial was in 2011 and he was sentenced to 24 years and a BCD.
