'Reshoring' brings jobs back to U.S., including Pensacola

The cost of labor overseas is rising rapidly, as well as the cost of shipping products from China back to the U.S. This company also wanted more control over the quality of the product--the Chinese factory making the window blocks for this company routinely threw away defective examples, instead of recycling them. Plus, there was two-way shipping involved: the chemical precursor (acrylic) for the product was made in the U.S., and had to be shipped all the way to China to be molded into the window blocks he used to make his final product, then shipped back. He said that model no longer worked and shipping was eating into his bottom line. The answer: hire U.S. workers and just do the whole process here.
