It was a mistake not to have the Secretary of State there. However, he was actually dealing with the potential of a hot war between India and Pakistan.....his choice. Symbolic or real threats to world peace with two nations who armed with nuclear weapons. The Vice President or President would have been totally inappropriate. The Attorney General would have been inappropriate. The Secretary of State made a choice.

There have been a number of online articles lambasting the photo op collection of international "leaders" who linked arms together for the Paris march.

Included are leaders from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other tyrannical governments where press freedom doesn't exist, and where journalists are commonly arrested, imprisoned and sometimes shot to death. For these despicable leaders to pretend they support freedom of the press is deplorable.

By accident or through choice, Obama's non-presence in this photo op farce was fortunate.

My only disappointment in the administration is because they deigned to apologize.

They staged a photo-op on a heavily secured street and cropped it to make it look they were in the crowd.

Obama declined to spend many millions of dollars to fly to Paris for a photo shoot with a bunch of criminals.

Good on him.
