Finally, it happened. This is what Obama has been trying to cover up for years.
On Thursday, it was reported by Newsmax that the White House was sent nearly 2,500 confidential tax documents by the IRS for review in 2013 during the IRS targeting controversy.
Legal advocacy group Cause of Action released this information from their lawsuit filed against the U.S. Treasury Department inspector general.
“The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration informed Cause of Action that there exist nearly 2,500 potentially responsive documents relating to investigations of improper disclosures of confidential taxpayer information by the IRS,” the organization said, according to Newsmax.
This and other documentation disclosing the exchange of confidential information between former IRS official Lois Lerner and White House policy advisor Jeanne Lambrew demonstrate the likely targeting of conservative groups for review, especially those that had active lawsuits against the current administration.
Cause of Action stated that the recent disclosure of this information, following their suit against TIGTA for its refusal to concede that those investigations happened and whether the tax documents existed, reveals that the Obama administration likely went to great lengths to “obtain taxpayers’ personal information.”
The release of these documents reveal that there was clear involvement of the White House in the IRS targeting scandal of conservatives and conservative groups. The Obama administration clearly ordered these confidential taxpayer documents from the IRS for its own political use.
If not for targeting these groups for review, what other reason would the administration have for obtaining these very personal documents? What other reasons exist for such a blatant disregard for and invasion of the American public’s privacy?
