John Boehner Out Stumping for Openly Gay Republican House Candidates

Boehner said he is doing this because he wants to: "...send a national message that the Republican Party can be more inclusive and positive.”

Ultra-conservative special interest groups are chiding him for doing this, saying that gay candidates "..are antithetical to the Republican platform...” If these candidates are elected, at least they will be open about their sexual orientation, and not hiding it like past gay GOP incumbents who have tried to stay in the closet.

Imagine having a couple of Republican Barney Franks in the House......

That special interest is probably the religious right. They need to realize that using the govt to enforce their views is evil.

Agreed. It won't stop them from trying, however, because they like having political pull.
