Markle- it's not "semi-retired" since he is CINC, it's R-O-A-D

In the military, we refer to guys just marking out the days until they are retired as ROAD or "retired on active duty". They come to work, but only go through the motions. They put no effort to do anything, but recreate and do as little work as possible to the point that they are more of a bother than a help and you wish they would just vacate their spot and move on somewhere else. They can't wait to take their terminal leave and neither can you because then you don't have to do the work that they refuse, cannot do, or sandbag on because they are already incompetent to start or they wouldn't be in that position to begin with.
