At least one Democratic congressman is “very very upset” with the idea that President Obama was shooting in Denver with Colorado governor John Hickenlooper today rather than visiting the southwestern border.

“When I saw that, it just really floored me,” said Representative Henry Cuellar of Texas, who has been quite vocal in his criticism of the administration’s handling of the issue. “If he’s saying he’s too busy to go down to the border, but you have time to drink a beer, play pool, the optics and the appearance just mean he’s not paying attention to this humanitarian crisis.”

He said people living on border communities who are upset with the president’s attitude toward the situation — the president heads to Texas later on Wednesday for a fundraiser, but won’t be visiting the border while he’s in the state.

“He’s the president — he can decide not to go — but he really should go down there,” Cuellar said.

WASHINGTON — President Obama urged Congress on Tuesday to quickly provide almost $4 billion to confront a surge of young migrants from Central America crossing the border into Texas, calling it “an urgent humanitarian situation.”

But the request quickly became entangled in the fierce political debate over immigration: Republicans said they were wary of Mr. Obama’s request and could not immediately support it, given what they called his administration’s failure to secure the Mexican border after years of illegal crossings. Mr. Obama could face resistance from members of his own party as well.

Two years ago. The cost was insignificant enough that I don't remember. I had my expired DL, social security card, laminated copy of my birth certificate, and my pass port. I had to take 2 current bills to verify my address. ( power and water bill)

Photo ID for identification only is cheaper than a DL. Photo ID's can be obtained at any State resource office such as; DCF, food stamps, etc.

That having been said, he should put the politics aside and visit the border.

He's the President of the United States, and this is a massive humanitarian crisis happening on his watch.

Please show us also which of those bills will allow the VA to FIRE incompetent administrators, offer vouchers for private care to those who cannot be served by the VA. The VA hasn't used all their money for five years. They don't need more money, they need a complete private takeover.

The President of the United States of America DID address the so-called "immigration crisis," including putting for a call for congress to generate funds to be spent in improving our ability to catch and quickly process under-age illegal immigrants seeking refuge in the U.S.

Then took a break and shot a game of pool.

What he didn't do was allow that freaky governor from Texas to orchestrate photo-ops that would help old What's-his-name make another comedic run for the presidency again.
