Hobby Looby has $73 million in mutual funds with investments in companies that produce emergency contraceptive pills, intrauterine devices, and drugs commonly used in abortions.

Hobby Lobby doesn't control what their money is invested in Bob. Funny, you provide no link to your assertion.

That's odd. I control what my money is invested in. I guess Obama has prohibited Hobby Looby to control their money because he's a no good son of a muslim bitch.

"In what just may be the most stunning example of hypocrisy in my lifetime, Mother Jones has uncovered numerous investments on the part of Hobby Lobby’s retirement fund in a wide variety of companies producing abortion and contraception related products."

Dog can you say CFO? I said in told you in another thread that the company certainly knows where their money is being invested.

Bob, thanks for starting this thread.  I read the same article today.

I've always wondered how good that "stand" is when you are standing in the midst of your own quagmire.

In this day and age so many companies/corporations are globbed together to get the best return on the investment that you are bound to be dipping into something that you won't always agree with 100 percent. Again, slow one, the crux of the issue with HL has to do with them paying directly for killing fetuses as a form of BC. If that's not crystal clear, maybe you can go back to kindergarten and relearn logic.

Cognitive dissonance at its finest.

"Directly paying for killing fetuses" they won't abide with. Good for them. But if they were truly standing on conviction they would not, in any form, want to INDIRECTLY pay for "killing fetuses."

Logic?

I don't care if Lobby Hobby or any other holy rollers are agin abortion or don't want to pay for abortion with government money.
Just like I don't give a shit if Mr. chick fil is a homophobic holy roller.
Or that michelle bachman and her holy roller husband are converting queers to be straight.

All I care about is the holy rollers not getting enough political clout to force their roll'ism on me. That's when their fist starts to touch my nose. And when that happens I'll break their holy roller arm.

They also cover 16 different birth control methods and drugs.

What the court case is about FOUR. Those four are what a commonly known as "Morning After" or abortion pills.

The desperate efforts of the far left Progressives is not surprising but the depths to which they are willing to go to in order to lie about the decision is disconcerting.

It's always about the precedent the case sets.

I'm wondering about a company that is setting up the insurance for their company and they see that blood transfusions are allowed.  Ooops, company's family owners don't believe in blood transfusions.  Hmmmmm, precedent set by Hobby Lobby case...they don't have to pay.

A company is owned not by a Christian family but a Muslim family.  They don't allow women to work with their face showing.  Precedent set by Hobby Lobby case???

Yeah, far fetched but once the precedent is set...well...that's what cases are argued for an against.  The details of abortion meds or not is not the precedent.  It's the overarching ruling.

Wait and see.

You missed all the precedents set by insurance companies.

Big topic that everyone has boiled down to Hobby Lobby doesn't have to pay but for four drugs.  It's bigger than that.

My religion (I just made it up) doesn't support war. Ergo, I am no longer required to pay taxes that support military operations. From this day forth, I will only pay the fraction of taxes due that support the non-military portion of the federal budget.

As with any large investment group they invest heavily in MUTUAL FUNDS which invest in hundreds of different corporations. Not as great a return but much safer. They, nor do you, have a choice as to what companies are held by those funds and they change daily.

Keep up the misinformation train!

NOT true. They do NOT have to pay for FOUR OF THE 20 DRUGS. All four of which are Plan B, Morning After or Abortion pills.

I stand corrected. The "but" should not have been in my sentence. Thank you.

Regardless, again, the topic is bigger than that.

Apparently you are misinformed as always. If a CFO does not know where the money is going and invested (even mutual funds) then they are not worth a shit.

I agree.  But even if the CFO or others didn't know what those mutual funds were investing in before,  they do now.
If they have a sincere bone in their bodies,  they'll now divest themselves of investing in abortion.  If not,  then I hope markle will have problems with that.  But I doubt it.  lol
