Despite the Obama admin's smear tactics, Bergdahl's former platoon members continue to speak out even after being threatened

The truth is a resilient thing; it has remarkable tendency to survive even in the face of concerted efforts to destroy and obscure it.

Take the Bergdahl prisoner swap. When that debacle blew up in Obama’s face, his administration tried to silence opposition and deflect criticism by dragging red-herrings in front of the mainstream media.

The have accused Sgt. Bergdahl’s platoon of being “undisciplined,” as if that somehow excused his desertion. And, they have attempted to silence anyone who contradicts their story that Bergdahl served honorably.

The truth. Ok, let's talk about it.

He was a flake who went AWOL and was captured by the enemy. His return was secured by releasing 5 some-guy-in-the-Taliban prisoners, who would eventually have to be released anyway.

Now, the discovery/trial part of this over blown crisis. Whether he is found guilty of not, his life is ruined.

If he's really lucky, he'll be executed. If not, he'll either be locked in solitary for the entire sentence, or released to suffer the never ending attacks from pseudo-patriots with a keyboard.

It would be a novel approach if due prowess was allowed to happen before the ginned up attacks began, but this is America where you are guilty before being proved innocent. And if by chance he is found guilty of anything less than being a traitorous deserter, that decision with be roundly denigrated and outright ignored by the people like the Bundy supporters.

Lock n load, right?

He'll most likely be discharged with some mental issue... which the military most likely should've determined prior.

Absolutely.....when discharged from the Coast Guard because of psychological problems Bergdahl should have never been allowed back in the military. Like many others with mental problems.....it's just a matter of time before they lose it.

I agree. Then he will have a target on his back and eventually wind up as a statistic. The suicide rate for Iraq/Afghan vets is staggering, at a time when the VA is being kicked around like a political futbol.

If we spent as much treating their wounds as we did inflicting them the VA would be a well oiled machine.

A good place to start would be hire some of those returning vets to upgrade the VA computer networks. Some of their systems are so outdated they look like a scene from The Net.

Why in the hell would he be executed or placed in solitary confinement? Jesus....you are really out of touch with military punishment. Maximum sentences given are reserved for heinous crimes.

What was that you were saying yesterday about trusting a USAF person that served? Good grief.

Sorry about that.

I'll try to stop using hyperbole, sarcasm, or irony.

Good post! Welcome ...

This Bergdahl situation isn't about a soldier whose capture needs to be investigated.

It's another incident the far, furry right couldn't pass up in their mad, frustrated quest to denigrate our black President.

What else is new?

I'm surprised nobody has yet blamed Obama for the tornadoes in Kansas ...
