"Are we really going to do this?

Is this what it’s finally come down to, is it really?

Look at yourselves, you silly selfish bastards.

Look. At. Yourselves.

Go on, do it, find a mirror and look into your own dead zombie eyes and see the empty void looking back.

This revolting, disgusting display of hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy, is this what we’ve finally become?

Are we now so filled with foul bilious hatred, are we now so consumed with soul-destroying fear, do we now despise our own selves so much that we would actually protest the return of one of our own? Is that it?

Is that what we’ve become?

If so, then the sooner America collapses of its own maggot-ridden gangrenous rot, the better.

No. No, don’t you dare look away. Don’t roll your eyes and dismiss the question. Don’t change the subject. Don’t click on to another story you find more palatable. You started this. You look into your own rotten soul and you answer the question.

Is this who we are?

Because the utter unmitigated, unhinged, unbounded yellow-eyed hypocrisy that defines this sick twisted morally bankrupt philosophy has finally, today, reached its zenith. There is nowhere left to go.

I didn’t think these people could dishonor the spirit of this country any more than they already had, but I was wrong.

Oh, I get it. I understand that frightened people become more and more irrational, especially when they are allowed, encouraged, to feed incestuously on each other’s fear. And I get that they are afraid. I can see it in their faces, I can hear it in their voices. I get that they’re afraid of change. I get that they’re afraid of the future. I get that they’re afraid of the past. And I get that they’re afraid of the present. I get that they’re afraid of losing power and privilege and prestige. I get that they’re afraid of their capricious and childishly vengeful god. I get that they’re afraid of different races and different cultures and different accents and different religions and different sexual orientations and different viewpoints and different politics. I get it, they’ve screamed their small fears over and over and only a dead man could possibly miss it.

I get that they are so consumed with rage and so filled with naked hate and so programmed with their diseased ideology that it poisons their minds like a computer chip submerged in acid..."

So why are you like that?

All you and the other supposedly enlightened progressive liberals have to do is compromise instead of projecting your hate around the forum.

What that author... and you apparently... need to "get" is what weak sauce is. Obama's picture is on the label...

it's between the feminine products and incontinence supplies.

Wow, you've really gone off the rails. Not surprising in itself, just the extent.

You must be so proud.

See. No response diplomatic of otherwise.

Can't begin the process of negotiating if there's no response.

This part is absolutely true...

But what they conveniently fail to mention are those pictures of Cheney and Rumsfeld with Saddam Hussein, back when we were giving the murderous Iraqi despot money and guns in his war against Iran and which he later used to invade Kuwait. Or that part where we armed Osama bin Laden with Stinger missiles and all the guns he and the Mujahidin could carry into Afghanistan. Or that part where these people’s beloved patron saint, one Ronald Reagan, sold arms to our mortal enemies in Iran, a nation the US Congress and that very same President had publicly labeled a terrorist state, the very same terrorist rat bastards who took our entire embassy staff hostage and held them for over a year. Or that part where that very same administration took the profits from that arms deal with terrorists and used it to finance still more terrorists in the jungles of Central America. And the really, really amusing part is that the same people who are right now shouting “we don’t negotiate with terrorists!” are some of the very same people, name for name, who were personally negotiating with terrorists in Iran, in Iraq, in Libya, in Afghanistan, in Colombia, in Nicaragua, in Somalia, and in Beirut.

But here's the deal. If Bush was in office now instead of Obama, and he was the one who traded the five ragheads for Bergdahl, the guy who wrote that piece would not be defending Bush on it. And neither would you tex, and neither would Sal or seaoat or MSNBC or the liberals in congress.

The outrage both you liberals and conservatives express is always tied to who it is who is doing it. Not the act itself.

Very well stated.

Did you read the whole entry? The guy who wrote this is a retired Navy Chief Warrant Officer. I'm not defending President Obama's decision. I don't have enough information to make that determination. Neither do you. Neither does PeeDog. As for Bergdahl, none of you know what his mission was. He made an effort to learn the language. Maybe he was undercover.

And, although many...i.e., John McCain...have continually conflated the Taliban with Al Qaeda or pushed the idea that the Taliban were harboring Bin Laden in Afghanistan, those organizations aren't the same thing at all...and those men who were released have been held without due process for years, tortured, who knows what else...do you have access to their files? Nope. Do you know how many people are held at GITMO without a shred of evidence? Neither do I.

And the day you see me defending anyone named Bush is the day you know I've really flipped my lid. The whole lot of them are evil personified, think they're above the law, and either threaten or off anyone who gets in their way.

You have continually ignored, defended, or rationalized obama acts that were similar to or even worse than bush.

That renders your opinions partisan and without objectivity... devoid of critical thght. Thank you for your contribution.

No one is worse than Bush. This from someone who sees the US economy almost completely destroyed by disaster capitalism and thinks fascism is socialism in disguise. Dear God, use the brain God gave you.

BS.

There is only one side who has politicized the deaths of diplomatic personnel ..... ever.

There is only one side who has politicized prisoner swaps for the return of POWs ..... ever.

There is only one side who has cheered a bad economy and dismissed any data regarding improvement as lies ..... ever.

I understand your "both-sides-do-it-equally" worldview gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling that you're above it all, but it remains demonstrably false.

Just because there are 2 sides doesn't make them equal. The release of Bergdahl has been in the works since 2011. Flip-flop McCain was for it then...but it "needed further study". Turning this kid...and his FAMILY...into scapegoats for a 13-year war started and promoted by your own party is beyond ridiculous.

Good for you! Even you are losing your enthusiasm for supporting the weakest, most inept President in modern times. President Barack Hussein Obama is NOT going to be happy about his reports concerning you.

So you state again, that you have nothing.

Beau Bergdahl was a deserter.

FIVE of the most violent, ruthless terrorists in the world were released by President Barack Hussein Obama.

That's the story.  If pictures of corpses disturb you, stop supporting leaders which make those things possible.

Perhaps you could ask Floridatexan to share with us all where Sen. McCain advocated the release of five of the most violent, dangerous terrorists in the world in exchange for Pvt. Bergdahl.

Also, I don't care if radical Islamic Terrorists call themselves al Qaeda or the Taliban. I really don't. If they're trying to kill me and my family because I am not a Muslim, I want to kill them first.

Except perhaps for someone who would carpet bomb a sovereign nation killing thousands of innocent people without Congressional approval then raise their Nobel prize with their blood soaked handed in victory.

Isn't that the acts of a terrorist or... war criminal?
