Foreign demand for U.S. Treasury debt has been critical in helping to keep interest rates low. If the United States had to finance all of its debt domestically, it would drive up U.S. interest rates not only for the federal government but also for American companies and consumers

Urgent: Should Obamacare Be Repealed? Vote Here Now!

I thought all this time that QE was keeping the interest rate low? has that QE been just a sell off of us to them?

2011...does anybody read their links. The dollar has strengthened by almost 10% the last two years. The chinese in the 2011 article held treasuries equal to what we were bleeding in oil imports, or about 850 billion a year.....that gap has been closed, and we are actually in a very powerful position with our budget debt reduced in half and record oil and gas exports......our agricultural exports are kicking butt as India and Chinese middle classes are developing western diets, and things are getting incredibly better for America. The Chinese will flex their muscle at some point on the issue of Taiwan. Our relative position on that issue will weaken with each passing year. There should be a diplomatic solution.

You do not even have a cursory understanding of what you post, and certainly do not understand the issues raised in this thread which you have repeatedly proven by your written word. I am not trying to be mean, just frank and truthful.....somebody has to let you know you lack the requisite conceptual understanding on international trade and finance. You find something which you think applies and cut and paste.....and yes....you cannot even get the years correct, but that is the least of the multiple deficiencies.....stick to what you understand.

From a personal perspective I acknowledge Chrissy's point-of-view that payments to hospitals have been reduced as well as reductions from insurance entities with (as I have read) to shift the paradigm to a results oriented model and leave behind the older model that has built the Taj Mahals throughout our country.  I have no doubt that employees like Chrissy are experiencing changes to the business-as-usual model and it is my hope it does not affect her annual earnings.  That said, I do know personally numerous 'specialists' in the medical field and they acknowledge that the business model will change but its effect on them will be minimal.  My friends include internal medicine, neurologists, intervention radiologists, cardiologists and even family care . . . their life is secure as well as their future.  Some of the low hanging fruit has been curtailed but they will continue to live a good prosperous life as they should.  Employees at hospitals, however, like Chrissy, may be a totally different situation.  I will take her word for it.  Its much like being a member of a union for many years with set rules for pay and working conditions and the contract changes dramatically and those elements disappear . . .it's enough to frustrate and make her angry.
