Enough to feed every starving person in Africa for years.

Another factor in maintaining balance involves the element of time. As we peer into society's future, we -- you and I, and our government -- must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired

Signifies, in the final sense, a theft

From those who hunger and are not fed,

Those who are cold and are not clothed.

Unfortunately, we don't live in a Utopia and there have to be men with guns and machines of war to protect our way of life.

"Buying and operating a dozen new nuclear ballistic missile submarines will cost the Defense Department $347 billion over the life of the boats, according to a memo signed this month by the Pentagon's acquisition chief"

Thank god we spent a trillion dollars and thousands of lives to protect our way of life from the 9/11 terrorists who were sent over from Iraq.   And completely ignored their sponsorship by our ally,  Saudi Arabia.  Gotta protect those allies especially when they're doing business deals with our politicians.

Protect our way of life from who?..whoever the bankers tell us is our enemies that's who..it's all a sick monopoly game..

Smedley Butler:
SDB: Back in 1904, when Russia and Japan fought, we kicked out our old friends the Russians and backed Japan. Then our very generous international bankers were financing Japan. Now the trend is to poison us against the Japanese.

Then the US befriended Russia and fought the Japanese until they were defeated and the Russians became enemies again.

LEARN FROM HISTORY !

WE are driven like stupid beasts by a system of controlled opposition more technically known as...

dialectical tension
or opposition between two interacting forces or elements.

Dwight D. Eisenhower was the last great president from the Republican Party. Those who have followed, even the "great" Ronald Reagan, were imposters who feigned true conservatism.

T, your comments regarding our nation's historical involvement in others' internal affairs are both fair and reasonable, in fact, the most sensible positions I have ever read from you. . . .

I expect we will be invaded soon by thousands of Arabs riding camels at full speed, waving scimitars and cursing the infidels with burqha clad women running along behind them making that high pitched tootling sound that drives the camel jockeys completely nuts.

I just hope that Bush and his business partner King Abdullah realize that if the mooslims conquer us we won't be buying gasoline anymore and it will cost Bush and Abdullah lots of money so they won't let it happen.
But what worries me is Bush and Abdullah may throw America under the bus cause they're selling so much gas to the chinks that they don't need us anymore.
