Fiat Buys Last Scraps of Chrysler.  Guess the Dodge Ram is No Longer AMERICAN MUSCLE!

The administrations idea was that Fiat would build smaller cars for the American market.  But ironically, Fiat’s Marchionne has made Chrysler profitable again not by producing more of Fiat’s mini-cars, as the Obama administration urged it to do, but rather by doubling down on Chrysler’s most “environmentally incorrect” light trucks and sport-utility vehicles, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango.

Remember too how Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney was attacked by Democrats and the President Barack Hussein Obama campaign for saying that Chrysler would be making cars in China?  Well, Mitt Romney was right about this too, Chrysler is going to be building cars in China.  Chalk up one more LIE for President Obama.

The Great Italian Auto Bailout — Courtesy of U.S. Taxpayers
by John Berlau on January 1, 2014

At the beginning of 2014, Detroit may be bankrupt, but they’re cheering the five-year-old U.S. auto bailout in Italy. That’s because after being the beneficiary of billions in U.S. taxpayer largesse, Fiat, the leading Italian auto company, is going to buy its final stake in Chrysler from that other big bailout recipient, the United Auto Workers (UAW).

“Chrysler’s Now Fully an Italian Auto Company,” reads the Time magazine online headline. But wait a minute! Wasn’t the bailout supposed to be about saving the American auto industry?

As Mark Beatty and wrote in The Daily Caller in November 2012, after presidential candidate Mitt Romney made the controversial claim that Fiat would be expanding production of Chrysler’s Jeep in China (a claim that turned out to be correct),

The company announced that they will be investing $1.78 billion in the modernization of their assembly plants. One of the two new plants will be put up at Marysville which is near Port Huron where they will allocate $700 million. The second facility also to be built in Michigan will be located at Trenton. The upcoming Trenton plant will have a budget of $730 million and this would be the plant where Chrysler plans to manufacture the next generation of Chrysler V6 engines.

I guess this is why Romney did not win. Michigan and Ohio would have changed the election results.

You missed the headline and what year this was even posted.  By the way, it is June 9, 2010.

Chrysler Opens New Plants But Cuts Down Jobs
By: Lauren Woods

DaimlerChrysler AG, the parent company of the Chrysler Group, is already talking with several interested firms to sell the troubled American car company. Auctioning the third largest U.S. car manufacturer has surfaced after several losses on the part of Chrysler. The company has already announced earlier this year that they will be cutting down jobs, close plants, reduce shifts.

Did not miss a thing........ 3 billion invested by Gm and Chrysler and a NET gain in jobs between the two. Improved productivity means fewer jobs in existing lines, but the company remains strong with GM having over 15 billion retained earnings. I will go by the Belvidere Plant late Friday which Manufactures the Dodge Dart......two shifts going strong and parking lot full.......again Romney is not our president because folks in Michigan and Ohio see that jobs were retained and expanded. However, I hope you try to use this logic in 2016. lol!

Fiat is an Italian company and they are bleeding money because of the Socialist labor laws in Italy.

That is the reason Fiat bought Chrysler, where they are making profits building SUV's and trucks.  Those profits are going to pay for the construction of plants in China.

GM cost tax payers $10 Billion.

When does GM have to pay anything in Corporate Taxes?

As you know well, had GM gone through the usual bankruptcy, they would still have been building cars, with different, far more effective ownership and management.  But you think it is funny that people who owned bonds from GM got royally screwed and the Unions profited from the tax payers.

Imagine the number of tax payers it takes to repay that 10 billion... that essentially went straight into union coffers.

Redistribution is fun boys and girls. I'm going to call it government selection... because it's in no way natural.
