Now, I know it is way, way, way to early to be prognosticating on the November, 2014 election..... However, I thought I would stir the pot on New Year's Day, and fire an opening volley: The Votemaster is predicting that the Senate will stay in Democratic hands.

Sarah Palin for Senate in Alaska. stirring the pot.....

Some Senate seats up for grabs in 2014 are in red states where the majority of voters are registered Republicans

But with Democrats defending 21 of 35 seats up for grabs next November, including five of seven open races, the odds again look good for the GOP. It has to make a net gain of six seats to control the chamber for the first time since 2006

And if the GOP does gain the Senate, and keeps the House, what will be their first order of business? I know already. John Boehner will cook up articles of impeachment against Barrack Obama, with the hope that their compatriots in the Senate will convict him so he can be removed from office.

He needs to update his map. It shows Montana strongly democratic with Max Baucus at 73%. Baucus announced in April he's not seeking re-election to his senate seat. Plus his predictions appear to be based on 2008 election results.

It all depends on T party Republican candidates getting to the November elections. The primaries this spring will be a good precursor to how the Senate will go. Crazy may work in a primary, but it has proven not to be so successful in general elections. The Democrats will gain house seats, but the senate will stay about the same.
