Dylan's Homesick Subterranean Blues is the precursor to what we now call "rap" music...



But probably the first ever example of what resembles rap music came before.
It was Hank Snow's performance of "I've been Everywhere"...

Don't overlook the fact that his sequined suit today would be described as being "gay".  So it wouldn't fit the conventional "rap" image.

Hank Snow once said "I've been everywhere,  but I never even wore a condom".
