NJ Special Election for the Senate

The special election is in October, and a possible favorite is Newark Mayor Cory Booker. My 28 yo daughter (staunch Democrat) really likes this guy. She told me several months ago she was following Booker and said he may one day have presidential potential.

Then again, Christie could have just appointed a Republican to replace Lautenberg to finish his term, to give the GOP one more Senate seat. Instead, he called a special election.....Shocked

Didn't he save somebody's life awhile back or something? I'll have to look it up.

On edit- yeah, he ran into a house that was on fire and pulled a woman out. That's pretty gutsy. Also, his approval rating is very high. He's won the primary now, so no way would I want him not to win no matter what his affiliation with business. Democrats need that seat.
