The Republican Party Has a Choice to Make

They are hemorrhaging voters because no one wants to be associated with their base of bigots and religious zealots.

The divergent paths that confront them are clear and stark.

They can purge the base and restructure which would result in short term losses, but could make them viable again in the long term.

Or, they could continue down the path they are currently on and win regional elections in the short term, surrender national elections, and relegate themselves to the dustbin of history.

I'm actually hoping for the former because a vibrant two party system is the only healthy way forward for the nation.

Their problem is the hardcore conservative rock stars insist they do not change their "principles" or their core beliefs and it those positions that do not sit well with Americans . . . . . . . . follow El Rushbo, Beck, Bachmann, Hannity over the cliff OR moderate their positions toward the center right to attract and grow their dwindling base.

Wait until Obamacare hits on 2014. Some states will see private health care policies go up 40+%..it's all over the internet. A real non-government association cranked the numbers. The same association which determines all of your insurance costs.
