Normally, I don't agree with Ben Stein, but on this point, I'm 100% with him. He says the idea is being "floated" to do away with the mortgage interest deduction for all filers...as an alternative to raising taxes on the rich. He laid out his argument, which I hope I don't have to explain to anyone. What he didn't say is who floated the idea...and I believe it's Simpson and Bowles...dumb and dumber.
