Pfft! Sounds about right. Around here, we refer to them as "LA-liens," pronounced "el-aliens," as they have invaded my beautiful small town and have tried their best to turn it into frigging LA, which we fight tooth-and-nail. They all want to escape LA (which I define as everything including and South of Lancaster), but at the same time want all the "conveniences" of the city. If they want city conveniences, they should stay in the goddamned city.

The vast majority of them have made the housing market here so that no locals can afford to purchase homes here, as they typically have the breadwinner work in LA during the week keeping an apartment there, while the rest of the family lives here during the week. There is simply nowhere here that pays competing salaries, so, as the saying goes, we find ourselves to be "shit out of luck."

Why ya gotta get me started on LA, g??
