This is ridiculous, and I do know people who are pushing to keep the cross in Bayview. I'm just not one of them. Sell it to a church and move it to private property.

Americans fought a revolution not to be a colony of Spain, France, or England. It fought the same for freedom from tyranny. It fought it for the right to freely worship as they choose, and not be dictated by a monarchy as to which god or religion is the State's religion. The courts rightfully sought the removal of one religions symbol from a public place which is owned by all the citizens and where no preference is given to any state sponsor of a particular religion. It is simple. In America you have the absolute freedom of religion to display your symbols at your church or mosque, but you do not have the freedom to do the same on public property. Seventy years of clear court cases, and Pensacola decides it will fight the court decision. Would not expect anything different when up to five years ago inmates were segregated by race in the Escambia jail......the constitution and freedom are not real important to some.
