My fellow liberals, we need to accept that Trump is our minority president.

25% of the electorate cast their ballots for Trump. 64.6 million Americans voted for Hillary Clinton -- making HER not The Pussy Grabber -- America's popular choice. And finally, 60% of those who did vote for Trump said they don't trust him.

Reality!!!

Not surprising, my Socialist (NOT Liberal) good friend Wordslinger believes California should rule the country.

Once President Trump is in office, I will extend the same respect I have extended to every President my entire life. I will not do what the losers did after President Obama was elected. A man I did not vote for twice, but who was my President and who did a very good job in my opinion. I am going to give President Trump the benefit of the doubt. I also will show him respect, something the losers and racist never extended to President Obama.

And Herr Markle's greatest wish, is that David Duke was enthroned as our permanent leader. But until then, he'll be satisfied snapping his Nazi arm-out salute and yelling 'Hail Trump!"

NOT. MY. PRESIDENT.

NOT. MY. PRESIDENT.

That attitude has become more recalcitrant with each President since Nixon. It is the insanity which lead this nation into civil war as the simple election of Lincoln caused irrational behavior that resulted in over a million Americans dying because of the failure to recognize that the Presidency is beyond the simple man or woman who occupies the office. It is the ideal that this nation with all its flaws and shortcomings can elect a leader every four years which unites and leads our nation. I will criticize each President when they are wrong, but I will not disrespect the same. I was appalled by the conduct of those who attacked President Clinton, Bush, and Obama. I think revenge is wasted energy, and disrespecting a standing President makes you no better than the pond scum of folks like Markle who demean this nation and are traitors to the same.

It's hard, if not impossible, to have respect for a self-proclaimed pussy-grabber -- a man who just settled a lawsuit brought against him by students who were scammed and swindled. A bizarre, tweeting President Elect who castigated an American federal judge because of his ancestry, a man who has a track record of swindling sub-contractors, a man who has applied to Scotland for a permit to prevent one of his golf courses from being flooded by a sea predicted to rise due to Global Warming, while claiming to his political base that "Global warming is a Chinese hoax." It's hard to respect a man who's been through two divorces due to his own philandering, etc. etc. etc.

But it's your right to treat him with respect. As for myself, I wouldn't piss on this hateful creep if his hair caught fire.

I respect the office of the presidency. I have always known the limitations of mortal men. However, when we allow the office of the Presidency to be disrespected and we become nothing more that a society which worships the cult of personality which can swing both ways. The same hysterics which got Donald Trump elected will now tear this country apart if wise men do not give this man a chance, and judge him on his policies. His policies are fair game. However, when all civil decorum disappears like the racist and hateful posts of Markle, then you are no better. I love this country and the opportunities it has given my family. I cherish our founding fathers' vision of the constitution and our future as a nation, and that vision was not of a king, or some kind of mob seeking bread and circus, but an honest Republic seeking equality and due process for all its citizens. The only people who make a profit from this disrespect is the manipulation of the media who ferments hate for ratings. It is time to stop and identify the real danger to America which is not the shortcomings of our presidents, but those who want to make all government evil........the 1% and Oligarchy depend on you to react the way you propose.

I understand where you are coming from and I totally admire your goal of respecting the office. I also see Wordslinger's objections to this person who will be our next president barring any other strange occurrences. One thing that bothers me about Trump is that he himself seems to disrespect the office.

He disrespects tradition and long standing protocol  surrounding the transition of power from 44 to 45. If he had respect for the position he was about to assume he would, in my opinion, be more inclined to ask for briefings as to how things are usually handled: think phone calls with Taiwan and voicing his opinion about foreign policy (Israel). I know you are both right about how you see this. I would like to be more in step with Mr. Oat but even trying to wipe away all dissatisfaction with his behavior so far until The Donald takes the office seriously I find it hard to give him serious respect.

Then I guess you need to give President Donald Trump a lot of respect. He has had frequent, long discussions with former President Barack Hussein Obama.

Lame Duck President Barack Hussein Obama misses most of his security briefings prefer they be sent to his phone and/or pad. Donald Trump takes them every other day with the specific instructions that if anything occurs before the next briefing, he is to be informed immediately.

President Trump has personally interviewed more than 100 people for the positions he needs to fill and has done so daily under the glare of TV cameras and with total transparency.

President Trump has scheduled far fewer balls to visit after his swearing in ceremony. He is going into work early the next morning.

Face it, President Trump could walk on water and you, along with the New York Times would trash him saying HE CAN'T SWIM.

Nope, I do not have to give him a lot of respect until he starts to take his situation more seriously. He will never be anything more than a TV show person to me. He loves the "glare of the TV cameras" lives for it actually.

He is too old to go to many balls after the swearing in so it is best he turn in early. As for the walking on water, good lord that is the oldest most worn out thing!

He does not respect the office or the country. He is a thin-skinned business man with the emotional makeup of a 12 year old. "President Elect Trump", not President Trump. We only have one president at a time, which he has also not respected.

Yes...thank you for sharing.

Good Hillary Doesn't have to go to any balls.  She couldn't even make it through the 9/11 memorial ceremony without passing out.

In a year or two, when it becomes patently obvious that President Donald Trump is a rousing success...what will you say then?

I respect the Office of the President but I cannot muster up any respect for Trump, sadly. I didn't like Bush's policies or wasn't a Reagan voter but I respected them as the President. Trump not at all. I can't stomach his lies, the way he ran his campaign, his childish behavior, his vindictiveness and his lack of knowledge. I am bracing for what is to come.

Nice to see you're so open minded.

What would you consider to be a success for President Donald Trump?

He confesses it's all been a game for him and resigns. Hooray! Way to go! He's a fucking loser, and anyone who idolizes him is ditto. Obviously you genuflect at the mention of the Pussy Grabber's name. Enjoy. By the way, you keep harping on Hillary's faults as though liberals will be wincing. Pssst -- here's a big secret -- the only reason millions of us voted for her was to avoid having the Pussy Grabber as a President. So just keep hammering on her, it's meaningless drivel to me.

You know all about meaningless drivel, right?

I suppose it's good for our country that leftists refuse to examine or even accept their shortcomings.

Nearly anything is a distraction and diversion from an honest objective look in the mirror.

Good strategy... enjoy comrades... lol.

Try and focus dummy. The subject isn't leftist or rightist ideology, it's whether or not Trump deserves any respect. As for looking in mirrors, I've no doubt when you look there is no image looking back. However, I have to agree that when it comes to accepting shortcomings, you have us all beat. You're number 1! Congratulations ...
