One-Third of Adults Went Without Health Care Due to Expensive Costs

BY: Ali Meyer — November 17, 2016 5:00 am

About one-third of adults in the U.S., or 33 percent, went without recommended health care due to expensive costs, according to a Commonwealth Fund survey.

The survey was conducted in 11 countries including the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. From March to June 2016, the group asked 26,863 adults who were 18 years and older about various aspects of their health care coverage.

The survey found adults in the United States were far more likely than adults in other countries to go without recommended care such as foregoing doctor visits when sick and failing to fill prescriptions because of costs. In the U.K. and Germany, 7 percent of adults faced cost problems.

It is such a lying pile of steamy, that I should not even bother to respond as our log cabin fellow decides to keep Ernsting up the place. Comparing nations with government health care to the United States who does not have single payer, and then blaming the ACA for the fact we do not have single payer. Twenty million people are rushing to get coverage and I have never heard one person say that the ACA was perfect.....just a starting point which may take four years to finally give us a push for single payer, which then a comparison would be truthful......

Entrepreneurs to Trump: Don't take away our Obamacare
http://money.cnn.com/2016/11/18/news/economy/obamacare-entrepreneurs-trump/index.html

Excerpt:

America's prosperity will suffer if Trump repeals Obamacare, said Donald Ferguson, a longtime tech executive. That's because health care reform has fostered more start ups and technical innovation, which supports economic growth, he said.

After working for the likes of IBM, Microsoft, Dell and Computer Associates for more than three decades, Ferguson joined friends last year to launch seeka.tv, which hosts independent web-TV content. Married with two daughters, he said he would never have taken the plunge had he not been able to get coverage for his family on the exchange.

"The ability to take risks is what has made America great," said Ferguson, 56, who lives in South Salem, New York. Repealing Obamacare "will stop people from taking risks. There will be a lot fewer start-ups and entrepreneurs [without] some compelling replacement."

Z good article but if that guy made over 120,000 a year with a family of 4 he would not have gotten anything cheaper on or off exchange.
