There is a growing need to address mental illness much like we do with physical illness. When we see celebrities stricken, it reminds us how vulnerable we are to this disease.

Mental illness is prevalent and ignored.

I meant to post this in the general thread, but will add that budgeting for mental illness, and any health care reform which does not address the growing need for early intervention is essential for the well being of many citizens. Sadly, we see on this forum that many people are alone without a support framework which can make life's challenges even more stressful. A young celebrity faces horrible uncertainty as she aged. We saw Robin Williams faced physical illness and growing mental illness which contributed to his taking his life. We can do a better job to help create better safety nets, and quicker identification of those who are in crisis.

Mentail illnesses are compounded by addictions. It is essential to treat both aspects.
