It really annoys me that Fox and the rest of the brain dead talking heads are pushing the story that Obama is neglecting the area...nothing of the kind...and that Trump looks "presidential".  Dear God, it's frightening that people buy this BS propaganda...not to mention the thought of Trump in the White House.

"We can talk about what happened for two days in 2005 and we should. We can talk about levees that couldn't hold, a FEMA that seemed not just incompetent but paralyzed and powerless, about a president who only saw the people from the window of an airplane instead of down here on the ground." Obama 2008

That statement was accurate. It was almost a week before FEMA showed up in NO, and FEMA supplies somehow ended up in Atlanta. And I've already referenced the way Bush diverted funds from levee maintenance to fund the Iraq War and his tax giveaway to his "base". There are plenty of pics of the Bush flyover...and what did his mother say? Those people probably had it better (the ones who survived).

No, Markle. I'm not lying or even exaggerating. I just saw a video of Trump's visit, and I know the territory. He handed out one truckload of supplies and left. Where's the check, Donald? Oh...and the relief supplies included PlayDoh.

Cute try.

The truth is for anyone other than the President to come to Louisiana to determine the extent of flood damages and what aid would be appropriate, the act is nothing but an attempt to capitalize on a cheap camera opportunity. Hillary understands that and Trump, the classless, cheap media mogul, doesn't. His presence in LA did zero for LA. The state already had massive media attention because of the flooding. Instead of debating the worth of Trump's appearance, the issue of what's causing the awful weather that brought the flooding seems far more important and intellectual -- two words you will have to look up. LOL

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Mississippi_Flood_of_1927

The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 was the most destructive river flood in the history of the United States,[1] with 27,000 square miles inundated up to a depth of 30 feet. To try to prevent future floods, the federal government built the world's longest system of levees and floodways.

Ninety-four percent of the more than 630,000 people affected by the flood lived in the states of Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana, most in the Mississippi Delta. More than 200,000 African Americans were displaced from their homes along the Lower Mississippi River and had to live for lengthy periods in relief camps.

I don't know whether Wikipedia or NBC news is correct, but I do know that this is the worst flooding in Louisiana since Katrina and that there is nothing normal about receiving some 30 inches of rain in less than two weeks. My point is we are receiving terrible storms, droughts, and flooding as a result of climate change -- and by far the majority of credible scientists not funded by fuel producers believe that the burning of fossil fuels is a major contributor. Go tell some poor Cajun in Baton Rouge that the flooding that destroyed his home was "normal."

It's been called a 1,000-year flood.
