On January 17, 2016, a cargo plane with $400 million in foreign currencies was secretly sent to Iran.

This was the same day the Iranian regime released four American hostages held in Tehran.

Barack Obama told reporters today this was not a ransom.

Obama lied.

Former US Iranian Hostage Saeed Abidini told FOX Business Network today the Iranian regime WOULD NOT let his plane leave Tehran until the ransom plane arrived.

They waited on the tarmac for hours.

Saeed Abidini: I just remember the night at the airport sitting for hours and hours there and I asked police— why you not letting us go — And he told me we are waiting for another plane and if that plane take off we gonna let you go.

Trish Regan: You slept there at the airport?

Abidini: Yes, for a night. They told us you going to be there for 20 minutes but it took hours and hours. And I ask them why you don’t let us go, because the — was there, pilot was there, everyone was there to leave the country. And he said we are waiting for another plane so if that plane doesn’t come we never let us go.

Ransom? No bad timing. The U.S. took 400 mil from Iran back in the 70's just before shah was overthrown for military equipment we never delivered. Iran had a claim for that money for some time.

How incredibly stupid this and most discussions which try to create a falsehood. We overthrow a democratically elected president of the Iranian people and replace our puppet the Shah. When the fundamentalist and people of Iran throw out the Shah we owe them money. In January they agree on the payment, and when the payment is made which the world court has affirmed, but we skate on interest on that money for over thirty years......you understand that part.....they agreed to take less money than we rightfully owed on any theory of quantum meruit where interest had been earned on the contract for arms, and this agreement was struck separate and apart. If the Iranians chose to not release the prisoners until after the money arrived that certainly was their choice, but negotiating a lesser amount owed was separate and apart from the prisoner release which was not negotiated as you suggest. In your limited real estate practice it is like a post closing possession agreement signed at the time of the contract with closing to happen six months in the future, and then arguing that the seller would not close until the money was delivered......which dumb asz is when the closing happens. Your stellar logic is trying to turn the post closing possession agreement into holding up the buyer until he deposits the money.....the post closing agreement stands on its own merits, as does the general contract to purchase......all triggered by the closing. The Iranians did not release the prisoners until they got money.......duh, ransom is an agreement to pay for their release........idiotic
