Fox News is interviewing some guy who is representing a police organization in Ohio. He is pleading with the Governor (Kasich) to revoke  the open carry law during the Republican convention. The Governor is saying he has no authority to do that and the police rep is saying his attorneys tell him otherwise. He says they need to declare a state of emergency and do it that way.

It is weird that we now have "free speech zones" (I thought that was the whole country?) That is more of a problem with crowd control at the convention rather than free speech per se. Unfortunately I see the need for that where there are large crowds involved.

The police rep was pointing out that if there were people walking around with large weapons it would be a distraction to law enforcement even it these people were "law abiding" citizens exercising their rights.

People snicker at Trump as he has been saying things many wanted to say, but the history of fascism is clear.......where a society lacks the courage to crush the same immediately, it will fester and take down the entire body politic.

There is nothing funny about hate and fear. The media has gotten ratings feeding this cancer.......many share the blame, and the folks like Markle who represent special interests who want to make a profit on this cancer......there is a special place in hell for those folks. Good Americans have to stand up and take the words they were taught in Church and live by them.......People have to start making people uncomfortable about spewing hate and fear, and this Republican will do my part. It cannot simply be a campaign contribution. It will require hosting coffees and talking to your neighbors. Not to change their mind about a particular candidate, but to speak truth about what America is and will always be.........this will get much more dark.......before the light of justice will shine......much much darker and sinister.

The RNC this year is going to be a circus. The PNJ's Andy Marlett is going to spend the week in Cleveland covering the event for the Newspaper. I look forward to reading his pieces and viewing his cartoons.

Secret Service.

And any candidate can refuse Secret Service protection. It is their absolute right. You know like candidate Trump who thinks its a good idea for people in a theater to shoot back......pure hypocrisy. Sorry, it would take Trump two minutes to request the Secret Service remove themselves from the convention. His choice........that is the ultimate hypocrisy.
