SUV Flees Cops, Takes Out Navy Fighter Jet

Apparently, a man and a woman were fleeing the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in their SUV, and drove onto the base at NAS Lemoore (north of Fresno) trying to elude the patrol car.
They continued through the base at high speed for 7 miles, and wound-up driving onto one of the squadron flight lines, where fighter jets are parked. Their trip ended when their vehicle crashed into the tail of a parked $60 million Boeing F-18 Super Hornet jet. The impact of the SUV wrecked the tail of the jet, killed the female passenger of the vehicle, and severely injured the male driver, who died of his injuries at the scene.
Is this bizarre, or what?
