SO sweet, you guys.  UGH.  That'll  bring Boards running back for sure - NOT.  And I, for one, am unhappy (as if anyone cared), because I basically JUST GOT HERE after a very long absence and had started to really dig this forum and enjoy the daily participation, even with the need to thread my way through a lot of unnecessary nastiness (like the above).

Perhaps.  However "ahead" it truly was, it was in every way designed for only people "of substance" to govern.  The problem in today's America is, the government is still designed for the rich to govern -- via corrupt campaign financing.

IF the corporations were running anything, why are we so deeply in debt and more people than ever in our history are on welfare (voting for more), food stamps (voting for more), disability (voting for more), free phones (voting for more), housing subsidies (voting for more), and on, and on, and on.

For a grand total at the end of our Lame Duck President's term of $20 TRILLION.  Then your hero, Socialist Bernie Sanders, demands to add another $20 TRILLION in debt.

Can't believe you don't see the obvious answer:  We're broke because the corporations who have bought our government are dedicated to but one goal:  making profit -- with no sense of social justice, the environment, or the lives of American citizens.  We're broke because these bloodsucking bastards are bent on murdering us all why they laugh their way to their offshore banks.  Down with Amerika Inc.!  Corporate control of our government -- and our economy -- through corrupt campaign financing.

While you squirm uncomfortably after reading my answer, try to get back to the subject at hand: most of us want Boards to stay on this forum. How about you?

First Markle gets banned, then Boards let's him back but quits. Now Salinsky has quit.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? Consider: this forum is a big part of the life of Markle, Boards and Sal. You each spend considerable time and effort voicing your opinions to an audience of people who are extremely aware of current events and the political scene. We may not be big in number, but the people of this forum are absolutely dependable daily contributors. Our number may not be impressive -- but it is growing -- and the quality of discussion is passable if not downright funny, abusive informative and interesting at times.

Speaking for myself, I want our forum to grow not shrink. Am I alone in this?

Untwist your panties.  It's BoardsofFL's "empire" so he's not going to leave.  I do believe that the forum could do with a more level headed adult as the operator.

Wordslinger would do it well, 2seaoat seems to have a full plate already but he too would do the job well.  Several others, in my opinion, would also do admirable jobs.  As for me, I'm obviously far too controversial here on a far left forum.  I do, however, seem to be of the few who can separate an opinion from the person.

So buck up Salinsky, it's all good.

It is not me who has run off members. I post FACTS and the Progressives here go nuts. They can't find anything to refute my FACTS and after that has happened time, after time, after time they reach their limit of exasperation and begin calling childish names, hurling childish insults and profanities.

They faze me not in the least. Many others are not so thick skinned. Rather than tolerating the Progressives abuse and simply go elsewhere. Which, in the end, is the goal of the most hateful Progressives on the forum. They deeply want the forum to be like the DailyKOS where any Conservative is automatically banned for life.

I need to cook-up a plan that will bait each of them back, to include PaceDog.

I tend to have moderately conservative views in some areas where those who put themselves on "timeout" are very passionately liberal. I may have to start some threads that they will find too irresistible to not join the discussion on.

Let's see, I probably can effectively bait PD by starting some anti-Zionist discussion. I don't have Teo here any more to back me up, but I am sure I can muster something up.

I could start a fossil-fuel/fracking discussion to bait FT and likely, Sal.

I could start a climate change discussion to bait both Sal and BoF.

You see, they will not know what they are missing...... Cool
