Hillary and Trump are equally evil in my book -- but at least she is rational, flexible, and able to compromise -- and she does have a regal comportment. She could do the job. Not as good as Bernie, but certainly capable.

The Donald as President of the United States would be a disaster for America.

He'd be one to pick up his toys and go home, leaving us with whatever vp he has chosen. What a horrifying thought...

I personally think Trump has cleverly fashioned a fascist campaign to appeal to the Dixiecrats who will make him the nominee by Wed., and that he probably does not believe in what he has been saying anymore than he believes in the Republican brand. I think people continue to underestimate his appeal to people who have tired of media and party manipulation. Mark my word, Alabama will go nuts for Trump the fascist. The SEC will crown the fascist.

Hillary has a trustworthiness deficit with the American people. She is seen by half of Americans not to be honest. Yet, Trump can lie right on the debate stage and people accept the same. The reality is that Hillary has fought discrimination and put downs her entire life, and for my granddaughters I hope she can win the White House and reduce the glass ceiling and opportunity for women in this country and for that matter the world. I do not agree with most of her policies, but I yield to her overwhelming experience and intelligence. Donald Trump just is too simple in his approach and too impatient to accept the tenets of democracy with all its messy pitfalls, and hell will freeze over before I support a fascist.

He's not even pretending anymore ...

Presidential candidate Donald Trump said Friday during a rally in Texas that he wants to "open up our libel laws so when [reporters] write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money." The GOP frontrunner suggested that when he becomes president, places like The New York Times and The Washington Post, "the most dishonest media outlets I've ever seen in my life," will pay for their unfavorable coverage of his campaign. He continued, "I think the media is among the most dishonest groups of people I've ever met. They're terrible." Once he's able to rectify the issue of "horrible" media coverage, he said, "When The New York Times writes a hit piece, which is a total disgrace, or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit-piece, we can sue them and win money instead of having no chance of winning because they're totally protected."

Will he sue the people who made these images and then also those who posted them on Internet forums?

That's odd... the obamaites get very upset when derogatory imagery is used with obama's likeness. Consistent much?

The correct spelling is "Obama-ites".

I did not get un-nerved when I saw these images:

It was never the derogatory imagery that was outrageous.

It was the overtly racist imagery that was outrageous.

He knows this.

I read that article last night and him saying The Post and NY times will have problems when he's president. That should be scary enough for any average intelligence American.

Scary indeed, VW.   As for average intelligence, am starting to wonder.  Remember Trump's saying after his Nevada win that he "LOVES the poorly educated"?    That may be true, especially because, according to some, they're his biggest fans.  Now I don't have statistics to back this up, but have heard on more than one occasion lately that it's blue collar America that's backing him the most.   (Remember Joe the Plumber?)

Now I am NOT saying that blue collar people are all poorly educated or stupid -- I have every respect for people who work with their hands -- but it does sort of fit in with my personal theory put forth recently on this forum that Trump's followers are somehow hopeful that his wealth, power and status (OK, especially the wealth) will rub off on them.  Ain't gonna happen, of course, but I think that's the source of much of the excitement and adulation.   Sad and dangerous for the nation, because Trump is in countless ways -- including this latest attack on free speech -- a terrible choice.

Interestingly, even with Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio in the race, Trump took the majority of the Hispanic vote.

CNN: Trump Had 45 Percent Of The Vote From Hispanic Republicans In Nevada Caucuses. CNN displayed entrance poll results showing that Trump received 45 percent of the vote from Hispanic Republicans in the Nevada caucuses:

Both are near to being dead already. All Trump will do is force them through opinion pieces and others to write the truth and, hopefully, keep their editorials on the editorial pages and not the front page.

Yes, but a new CNN/ORC poll has Sanders being favored by 66% of voters, nationally.

This will be an interesting election. To bad some of our members picked up their toys in a fit and decided to go home.....

I take it Trump is your kind of leader, right? It doesn't surprise me -- fascists love fascists. By the way, the leadership of the republican party is scrambling to find ways to dump Trump. LOL

The 'Establishment' sides of both parties are frantic to dump both Trump and Sanders. A conservative PAC sent this to me in the mail today. It was a big card about 8.5" x 11":

I'd vote for Trump over Hillary any day.

I believe that many people across the country are fed up with the likes of Obama. Hillary would be like a third term for Obama. I don't think it is going to happen.

Over the summer and fall I signed up more than 200 new young voters as republicans. We'll sign up 700+ before Nov.

Gotta go to town today and cast my vote.

So ZVUGKTUBM where did this quote of yours come from? "a new CNN/ORC poll has Sanders being favored by 66%".

Yep, the old Republican establishment is trying to dump The Donald. Trump being the nominee and President of the United States would mean an end to the old, ineffective RINO's. That would be a good thing for America.

However, I do believe Newt Gingrich would make a superior Chief of Staff, don't you.

Do you honestly expect me to accept that the DNC is not in a panic having no one but Sanders and Clinton on their ticket? Looks like Joe Biden is going to get the nomination.

I  haven't looked at the new CNN poll article(s) yet but I'm guessing that, as often happens, there may be some less-than-perfectly-clear writing involved, creating confusion between stats as to favorability/likeability and those regarding predicted voting results.  Those are two different things entirely.

Just as one example, some people may not LIKE Hillary all that much while they really LIKE Bernie.   But a certain percentage of the latter will actually vote for Hillary anyway, because there are other factors (such as electability) involved in the final voting booth decision.

Offered FWIW.

Linda, I did a search on this 'likability' factor and found several, from an article in the Washington Times an excerpt:

An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll this weekend found Mr. Sanders with a 15 percentage point lead over GOP front-runner Donald Trump in a national head-to-head matchup. Hillary Clinton only tops Mr. Trump by 10 points in the same poll.

Either way Trump loses . . . . TRUMP 2016!!!

National poll: Clinton, Sanders both top Trump
http://www.cnn.com/2016/03/01/politics/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-poll/index.html

...Sanders -- who enjoys the most positive favorable rating of any presidential candidate in the field, according to the poll -- tops all three Republicans by wide margins: 57% to 40% against Cruz, 55% to 43% against Trump, and 53% to 45% against Rubio. Sanders fares better than Clinton in each match-up among men, younger voters and independents....

The article has been changed since this morning. Earlier it had Sanders favored nationally 66% and viewed unfavorably just 33%.

It looks like poster Markle needs to break out his propaganda machine and get to work. Lots of convincing needs to be done for the handful of voters here....
